Good Morning God Thought Friends,

Well, the ice and snow did indeed hit Oklahoma. Not sure how many inches we got so far. When I find out, I'll let you know. The wind is blowing and the snow is "dancing".

Hubby and I are staying home, keeping warm, and being safe. Thank God the electricity is still on!

I was thinking about us reading through the Bible this year, God's Love Letter to us...and thought

Love Letter...we are loved with an everlasting love.

This song came to my mind. I think it is the first song I ever learned about God's love.

"Jesus loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong."

Here is a link with Avalon singing "Jesus Loves Me/Tis so Sweet to Trust in Jesus" with their three children on stage with them. So precious.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p37CfldECqY

Have a blessed day and stay safe. (Saw on Drudge Report over 2100 miles across the US of snow and ice.)

Love and [group hug] friends!

Good morning friends!

daisy,

I'm glad you and gwb are home safe during this storm!

The worst part of the storm hasn't made it to PA yet.

"Jesus Loves Me" is also the first song I learned about God's love many years ago!

So sorry to read at the end of last week's God Thought thread that your grandson, Beaux, has been sick. I pray he is well very soon!

There is alot of that going around. My grandson's were sick last week, but are fine now.

I'd like to share one of this week's Weekly Wisdom's on the Christnotes site:

http://www.christnotes.org/ww.php

Weekly Wisdoms for the week of January 31, 2011

"You need both blessings and difficulties, because one without the other is neither.

People who live in affluence for all of life (such as many people in North America and Western Europe) can easily become so accustomed to wealth, blessings, and prosperity that they can easily forget what blessings they actually have.

However, if those possessions are taken away, those people will certainly look at life with a new perspective, realizing how much they really had.

You don't realize how much you have until you don't have it anymore.

God knows the importance of balance; that is, the importance of having both blessings and difficulties.

There are several scriptures that speak about this balance. For example in 1 Peter 4:13, we are told: Rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

Notice how we participate both in suffering and in joy.

Similarly, in 2 Corinthians 1:7, Paul wrote this to the church in Corinth: And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

They experienced both suffering and comfort.

Don't become too comfortable with what you have, because when you forget that the things you have are a blessing from God and when you start to assume that they are guaranteed possessions, it is quite possible that God will take them away from you in order to teach you that you need both blessings and difficulties, because one without the other is neither."

These wisdom's always give me something to think about.

Everyone be safe today, especially if you are affected by this big storm system spreading snow, sleet, freezing rain and ice across the US.

Dekrator,

That was especially cute with their children on stage. Always fun to watch children in situations like that. Or like at church or school programs where kids are involved.

Great memories watching my children as they grew up and now my grandchildren.

Still snowing here. Still have electricity and so thanking God for His provision!

It's not snowing here yet. Supposed to start sometime this afternoon and go all night. We had the freezing rain last night. Now there's a thick layer of ice over everything. It's kinda creepy looking because everything is so still and everything has ice sickles hanging off of them.

Friends, I'm feeling bogged down today. I've not been feeling well in general and it always takes a toll on me mentally. I'm such a fix it person. When I can't fix or figure something out (example, how to make myself better) it drives me crazy. I can't leave it alone and I get overwhelmed.

My PICC line is also malfunctioning again. It has clotted 5 times in the past 5 months. I used Cathflo on it Sunday and got both lines working again. Already one is hard to flush. I don't know if I should just go ahead and ask to have it replaced. I never had problems like this with my old PICC.

I'm also stressed because my mom and I are planning on going to visit my sister and her husband this weekend. My sister called yesterday to tell me that the kids she babysits (her full time job) have the hand foot and mouth virus. They are highly contagious right now so she will probably pick up at least a low grade infection from them. They will be contagious for several more weeks.

My neutrophils are low so I am not supposed to be around sick people because my body cannot fight off infections. I don't know if I should take the risk and go knowing that I will likely catch the virus. If I catch it there are no specific antiviral treatments to help me get rid of it.

My sister's birthday is next week, that's why we were planning on going up there this weekend. I'm always the cause of canceled plans. It hurts to be the one to have to disappoint people.

I could really use your all's prayers. For God's guidance and provision. I just need his help because right now I don't feel like I know how or what to ask for. My heart is heavy.

Maybe I should sing "Jesus loves me" over and over in my head until it sticks today.

Jesus loves me this I...will know, Thanks Daisy; Thanks Dekrator I'm not junk. [lol]

Dekrator you write....There are several scriptures that speak about this balance. For example in 1 Peter 4:13, we are told: Rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

This was my thoughts a couple weeks ago when I was dealing with attitudes.....

There is no way to calculate the burdens and benefits of living....So I will hand this over to God, because I'm sure the Lord has an accurate measurement.
just thinking.

sammy.... I am so sorry you are going through some difficult times right now and your heart is heavy....I will pray for you.

I learned soooo and more soooo much this morning in class. Awesome and I understood!

Matthew believes that righteousness is a way of living that accomplishes both the demands of the OT law and it's intent to produce a right relationship with God.

So when pastor was discusing the three temptations that Jesus went through, we kept going to Deuteronomy and reading scriptures like..."Man does not live by bread alone,"You shall not test the Lord your God," and what was the third? hold on let me look real quick.....ahh here we go; "You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve."

Matthew connects with OT and Moses. I had my thinkin cap on this morning. Daisy what does the 40 days and years mean.....
40 is the number of days it rained, God led Israel through the wilderness for 40 years, Moses spent 40 days fasting, and Jesus spent 40 days fasting.? I had another question, hmmm what was it? think, think....ohh got it, umm why does Jesus say the Kingdom of Heaven and not the Kingdom of God?

I is shy and scared to ask the group questions so yep I still gotta ask you [Smile]

stay warm everyone!

oh, one more Daisy, I have to read more.... Sermon on the Mount begins next week....an upside down community.... Might need help a bit... you know, fishers of men.

I am so excited can you tell? [group hug]

ps...finished with Genesis, a bit confused by why did brothers still worry about Joseph and a message sent saying...please forgive the transgression of your brothers and their sin, etc. Maybe you can help with the moral of?
Exodus next? Where does it say that God loves me in the bible?

Lord, please lift sammy up and give her peace, healing and comfort.

Please guide sammy to do your will. Lord, in difficult decisions, please show sammy which way she should go.

Please provide for her needs and strengthen her.

MDW,

[woohoo] Yay!!! [woohoo]

Whoa...you are a real thinker and you are learning way too fast for this girl. [dizzy]

I'm so excited for you, that you are enjoying your class and have so much inquisitiveness!

I will wait for daisy to answer your questions so I can learn too.

I can understand about not speaking up in the group and asking questions....that would be me too.

Maybe as time goes by you will feel more comfortable.

Have a blessed evening!

sammy,

I was reading "Chicken Soup for the Soul: Stories of Faith" this evening and this scripture was mentioned....I immediately thought of you...

Psalm 143:8 (NIV)

8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life.

Good Evening Friends,

Dekrator, First of all, YES, we have electricity! PTL! (Praise the Lord)! We are blessed to have a nice warm home.

As always I am blessed by your posts...just like everyone else is.

"Chicken Soup for the Soul" what you shared for sammy is beautiful. Reminds me of the verse that says, "Weeping may last for the night but joy comes in the morning."

sammy, Awww thanks for sharing with us. Sorry you're having a rough time right now. I'm praying for you. May God encourage and lighten your heart and lift up your spirit. May He give you strength ans wisdom in making these important decisions. May you experience the peace of God that passes all understanding.

That verse I shared above...it reminds me that things will change...for the better. When I'm going through a rough time, it helps me to remind myself of that.

Please take care of you regarding the weekend and the PICC. As you take care of you...you will get better quicker.

Disappointments happen. Unfortunately, it is part of living in a broken world. But love covers a multitude of disappointments. You are loved by your family. Try not to be so hard on yourself.

You share, "Maybe I should sing "Jesus loves me" over and over in my head until it sticks today." I've done that before...and it works...because it's the truth. [Big Grin]

MDW, I think we should print and wear t-shirts that say, "No junk!" (and just imagine that Graemlin shaking it's head "Yes".

Woooohooo, your class sounds great. You're understanding! Would love to be there too "a fly on the wall". [lol]

I need to get going for tonight but want to respond to two of your questions...(will hold on the number 40, Kingdom of God and Kingdom of Heaven)...

1) Here is one I want to respond to, you share, "ps...finished with Genesis, a bit confused by why did brothers still worry about Joseph and a message sent saying...please forgive the transgression of your brothers and their sin, etc. Maybe you can help with the moral of?
Exodus next?"

Very interesting. VERY INTERESTING. Yeah, here Joseph's brothers were lying to him. Their father never said those things they made up. Morally it's a lie. So, well, you know me. I wonder what God might be trying to teach us from this story. Is the story about lying? What other things might the story be about?

Let me share a scripture first, 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Basically that verse I just shared means that God's word is not just stories, His word is there for us and has a message, or two, or three, or more that can be applied to our lives.

OK, so back to Joseph and his brothers. The brothers were very mean to Joseph. They left him for dead. They were so shocked when years later they learned that Joseph was alive and had such power, after all, he was leader right under Pharoah. The brothers were afraid of Joseph.

The brothers didn't "catch it", it never "hit them"--even after all those years that Joseph took care of them and was so good to them--that he really had forgiven them of their sin against him, that Joseph really, REALLY loved them.

Even after all those years that Joseph gave, and gave, and gave and was so very good to them...they still didn't get his love for them, they didn't trust him and so they lie.

They figured the only reason Joseph was good to them was for their father's sake.

It made Joseph VERY sad and the Bible says "he wept" when he heard what his brothers said (of course, he didn't know they were lying). The Bible says, "he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.

So.....MDW...what would God want to teach us about the lie, about the brothers, about Joseph, about this "story"?

How about that we are sometimes like Joseph's brothers and don't "catch" and "get" how much God loves us...even after all He has done for us and continues to do for us we don't trust him and believe in His love...

2) Here is the other one, "Where does it say that God loves me in the bible?" For starters:

Jeremiah 31:3
John 3:16

Ooops, I gotta go.

Love and hugs to all!

Good Morning Friends,

I looked outside this morning and it looks so beautiful. Everything is covered with snow. Reminds me of this verse in

Isaiah 1:18

``Come now, let us reason together,''
says the Lord.
``Though your sins are like scarlet,
I will make them as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson,
I will make them as white as wool."

Psalm 103:11-12

"For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions (sins) from us."

God has done this amazing thing for us through His Son, Jesus! We are forgiven! [bow]

So...anyway...the electricity is still on. We're nice and warm in our home in Oklahoma.

Praying you all have a great day...I'll be back laaaaaater.

Blessings all!

Good morning friends!

daisy,

PTL that you are well there in OK!

We continue to have freezing rain here.

Last night I filled up 2 bathtubs with water in case we needed the water (not to drink of course [Big Grin] ) if the power goes out. We have a well, and it does not pump without power.

I love your explanations to MDW! You always make it sound so easy to understand. Thanks!

I look forward to more explanations.

Friends,

I pray that everyone will be filled with hope, faith and His peace.

We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 (NIV)

Good morning my dear friends,

So pleased that all of you are safe and remain to have heat and electricity. Was worried that you might lose in the night with temperatures dropping. Brrrr to all of you.

Thanks daisy for the moral of Joseph and his brothers. I knew they lied a couple times but I did not "catch" the love part. I "catch" what you are saying. [Smile]

I noticed when I read last night, the 40 came up again...
"So the physicians embalmed Israel. Forty days were required for it.." 50:3.

So I'm a thinking this morning that maybe, they did not have time (watches) back then, and they use the same number in the bible (40)as a time line for us?

Also I got it! I had to sleep on it but I got the moral of Jesus and the tests(I think), Like Jesus we can trust the word of God and ...ummm yes that victory belongs to those who will follow and Jesus shows us the way through temptation. Yes! Yes am I right?

I noticed those bold words up above in your post daisy. I am going to have t-shirts printed "No Junk" but I will have to wear mine as a nighty...cause I don't wear t-shirts. [Big Grin]

Dekrator thanks...."We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Romans 8:28 (NIV)

ps... Sammy I forgot to check on you today...How are you doing today? Is your heart less heavy? Praying for you.

Dekrator, Thank you for your prayer for all of us to be filled with hope, faith, and His peace...I am! PTL! Our God truly is so good!

What a great idea to fill the tub up with water. Duh! I never thought of that.

And Romans 8:28, yeah, yeah, you know ONE OF MY FAVORITES! Right up there toward the top of the last. I think Romans 8:28 is one of God's greatest miracles. I, mean, who can do that? Our Almighty God can! [bow]

Praying you're doing well. Did electricity go off...yikes...

MDW,

I will have to do research on the number 40. God does have favorite numbers and they are not just there for no reason. I would say numbers show us how God is a God of order.

My one son, the one that keeps me on my toes, shared with me about that before but I can't remember...Ha!

I do know that numbers and the alphabet (like A to Z) were used to memorize since, at first, "words" were committed to memory and passed down from generation to generation.

Are we ever blessed to have the written words, and computers, and the internet....WOW!

You share, "Also I got it! I had to sleep on it but I got the moral of Jesus and the tests(I think), Like Jesus we can trust the word of God and ...ummm yes that victory belongs to those who will follow and Jesus shows us the way through temptation. Yes! Yes am I right?"

That is so beautiful!!! Great!!!

Have a good night's rest.

It's been a while since I shared this on God Thought. This evening prayer is powerful and filled with God's word. It is my prayer for you and me tonight. [group hug]

Be encouraged as you pray

AN EVENING PRAYER FOR RESTORATION

Father God, I thank You for sustaining me today. I thank You that You are made perfect in my weakness. Your grace is sufficient for me. I thank You that Your steadfast love never ceases and Your mercies are new every morning. You say in Your Word that mourning may come for a night, but the new day will bring gladness. Bless me with a healing night's sleep. Restore unto me the joy of my salvation. help me to stay on the path that leads to life. [bow]

Good Morning Friends,

Whatever is on your heart this morning...PRAY. It's a new day and it's a great way to start this day that God has made!

Psalm 5:1-3

Listen to my words, LORD,
consider my lament.

Hear my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.

In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly.

A MORNING PRAYER FOR HEALING

Father God, I thank You for creating me in Your image. I praise You that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I confess that You are the God that heals, my Great Physician. I ask You to heal my body from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. I pray that You would regenerate every bone, joint, tendon, ligament, tissue, organ, and cell of my body. This is the day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.

Prayer from Jordan Rubin's book, "The Makers Diet"

Our God is called "The Great Physician" for a reason. It's because He IS the ultimate Healer. [bow]

Have a great day, think healing thoughts!

Dekrator, Praying for you...Did your electricity go off?

Well, as you can tell we have electricity in my neck of the woods. [Big Grin]

Remember you talking about "Chicken Soup for the Soul"? Well last night my hubby made Chicken Noodle Soup for the body. [lol] MMMMMM MMMMMM Delicious. I almost had it for breakfast. Looking forward to lunch, AND DINNER TOO!

Everyone, take care, be safe, keep warm.

Good morning friends!

daisy,

Thank you for you concern and prayers! [kiss]

We did not lose power, but had alot of freezing rain and ice.

Our sidewalks and driveways were(some still are) a thick sheet of ice.

The sun is out today and I have to run to Lowe's to get more ice melt.

Also have to go to the boy's talent show at school and later this evening is indoor soccer practice.

In addition, I am preparing for our Soup Party on Sat eve....funny you mentioned soup....your chicken soup sounds delicious! [Big Grin]

Every winter, we have a Soup Party to break up the winter blahs.

Each couple brings a crockpot full of homemade soup. I make soup too, and salad, and desserts, and get some loaves of crusty bread.

It's amazing how full you can get when you are eating many different soups!

Sometimes we have as many as 7 soups. This year some people can't make it, so we will have 5 soups.

It's just something I dreamed up about 15 years ago because I like to find any excuse for a party!

Anyways, I am in the midst of making lists, shopping, setting up tables, and all that goes into having a party. [dizzy]

I was blessed very much, daisy, by the evening and morning prayers you shared from "The Maker's Diet". [group hug]

Psalm 5:1-3, really spoke to me. Are you sure you are not a fly on the wall in my house, daisy? lol.

I lie in bed after I wake up in the morning, and pray for everyone that I can think of.

Then I pray for everyone in the world.

Lord, I lay my requests in front of you, and wait expectantly. [bow]

daisy, you bless me so much!!

Thank you for your constant encouragement, prayers and lessons.

Everyone, I pray you will have a great day filled with sunshine, God's love, and everlasting hope. [group hug]

Daisy. your prayers are beautiful and I have read them a couple times now before posting. Thank you for these prayers... I have needed the "Great Physician" this week. Not been feeling real healthy lately, and I tend to forget to ask for prayer. So thank you for having me read this prayer to Father.

Chicken soup sounds real good bout now. Dekrator what kind did you make? I have two empty bowls that can be filled. Soup party I am in! This is so wonderful what you began many years ago, beautiful gathering I am sure.
Dekrator I think God and Daisy are real good friends cause she always seems to know what we need when we need.

Well I best get to Kameron he is trying to share (shove) a donut in my face to eat.

Keep warm and safe.

ps... no I don't have chocolate in the corners of my lip...in my tummy [lol] not really.

my question before it gets lost up there ^^^
why does Jesus say the Kingdom of Heaven and not the Kingdom of God?

pss... Daisy, I do not need this question answered right away, just did not want it forgotten....stick it with the rest of my questions ok.

Daisy! This is so fascinating. in class we were discussing Matthew pointing to parallels between the lives of Moses and Jesus. This is some of what I learned and now we are reading chronologically in Exodus

Matthew shows the relation by recording Jesus' life to the history of his people. Egypt was a place of refuge for Abraham, Jacob, and the peopl of Israel, but also a land of exile and slavery. It was the place where the Exodus began, where God moved powerfully to deliver his people from Pharaohs power in order to bring them back to Israel and make a new way of living.

Joseph and Mary escaped Herods violence of every male child killed and same with Moses..Exodus 2:1-10.

I am kindof learning two lessons at the same time.

Dekrator,

Glad you do have electricity and everything's well. WOW! You sure have a busy day AND NIGHT going on!

- boys talent show (how was it?)

- soccer game tonight

-and the Soup Gathering on Saturday. That sounds like so much fun! Be sure to let us know what you made...and everyone else too. What a great idea! That would be so great if we could all get together and do that one of these days, or years...before Heaven. [hi]

Made me so hungry just went and poured me a bowl of the soup.

OK, I'm back.

What a great idea staying in bed in the morning and praying for others before you get out of bed. THAT sure is a great way to start the day out right!

I say from time to time, "Make it a great day...for someone else." You praying surely does that.

Thank you for your prayers for all of us.

MDW,

Glad you liked those prayers. They are full of the Word of God. Jordan Ruben wrote those and included them in his book, "The Maker's Diet".

For the longest time I had them taped to our bathroom mirror...then they got grundgee. I typed them out and printed them on nice paper and framed them. [Big Grin] I have them on the bathroom counter and hubby and me read them morning and night.

Thank you for sharing about your need for The Great Physician and prayer. I am praying for you. I know others are too. May you sense His healing touch.

Awwww, Kameron so precious. I can picture that now.

Grandchildren are such a blessing!

I'm saving your questions...hope you are too, in case I forget some. [shake]

That's a beautiful song. Whoa those scriptures sure come and go fast...I see why you had to stop the video. God's Word is beautiful.

So I wonder how all the God Thought Friends are? You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Good rest to all tonight.

MDW, just saw your recent post after I posted. Shows you how long it took me to get the soup, heat it up, yada, yada, yada.

WOW, I'm so excited for you. Wish I were in that class! Thanks for sharing with us the parallels and what you're learning! God's word is amazing!!!

So...ummm...I wonder what comes to anyone's mind about us...How might THAT (what MDW shared) apply to us? to our lives?

Any thoughts?

It happened again...I type a post and then someone posts before I do. sammy, I'm glad it was you!

sammy, another great song, and the words are so true...right from the Word of God. Thank you for reminding me of that oldie but goodie!

Yes, better is one day in the presence of our Lord than a thousand days anywhere else!

Lord, help us to realize that's true and spend that time with You...and then experience the reality of that truth...Yeah, me with You is better than _______ [bow]

Thank you all for praying for me [Smile] My heart is not so heavy today.

I'm grateful that we didn't lose our power and heat during the storm. We got about 3/4in of ice and a couple inches of snow on top of it. The ice melted alot today.

My sister ended up getting the same virus that the kids had. I was hoping she would be able to fight it off. This weekend is off, we'll try to go up to stay with them in a couple weeks.

My PICC line is still malfunctioning. Trying another round of cathflo to see if I can get it working well again. I don't know why I keep having so many problems with it. I'm supposed to switch to some new IV medicines next week so I need this to work.

Daisy, I should write those morning and evening prayers down so I can remember them.

Dekrator, I haven't read that Chicken Soup book, the passage from Psalm 143:8 was so fitting for all of us. Have fun at your soup party this weekend! That sounds like a great idea for a cold winter weekend with friends.

Hens and HorseHelper, thinking of you too!

Have a great evening everyone [Smile]

Good evening friends!

daisy, MDW, Hens,

The boy's talent show at school was great. So many cute kids singing, dancing, doing gymnastics, funny skits... [lol]

Deven played a Paper Jams guitar with his best friend and sang "Life is a Highway".

Kaden's preK class sang and danced to a song from the musical Annie. Kaden always gets really into the dancing part...so cute.

Tomorrow morning we will go to church since the school kids go on Fridays...then there is an open house at school for parents and grandparents.

After that I need to go pick up groceries for the Soup party and get busy!!!!!

I plan to make a Chicken soup with fresh veggies like zucchini, red bell peppers, carrots, onions, red skinned potatoes, etc.

Awww, daisy, that would be FUN to get together and have our own soup party! For now, it's a virtual soup party, I guess.

I'll let you know what soups the others bring.

You are in my daily prayers, daisy.

I enjoyed all the music everyone posted...thanks!

MDW...I can feel your excitement for learning!!
My head is spinning trying to keep up. [spinning smile] My hubby loves donuts too. Kaden eats only the tops (icing) off...lol. Praying for you everyday too, MDW!!

sammy,
I'm glad that you're feeling more light hearted today. [group hug] I will keep praying for you!!!

Hens, still praying for you and your family too!

Hugs to all...not sure if I'll have much time to post tomorrow. [dizzy]

sammy, glad you're not feeling so heavy tonight.

Lot's to be thankful for in a ironic kind of a way. And although I'm not glad your sister got that virus, having to postpone getting together, made your going or staying not an issue.

Praying your PICC situation get's taken care of with a positive result.

Just listened to the song you posted. A couple years ago I went to the Third Day concert when they were in OKC. Went with my son and daughter-in-love. It was inspiring.

MDW, no there's no wrong answer. We're brain storming. Thinking out loud on paper.

You share, "If we are not blind to God then we can see that he is working in us and around us so we do not have to live enslaved and He will lift us up."

WOW! Beautiful! So true! Here is a prayer from your answer (if you don't mind)...Lord, help me/us not to be blind to You. Help us to see You working around us, so that we are not enslaved... (to fear, or hopelessness, or "whatever" would enslave us). Lord, life us up (above the circumstances in life as we see You and focus on You...then we will experience Your peace.

Dekrator, what a great evening you had. Thanks for sharing with us.

Awwww, I can picture the boys talent show. Makes me smile as I imagine it. So cute for sure!

May the Lord give you strength tomorrow for all that's on your schedule. Enjoy your time with your precious family.

Your chicken soup sounds delicious--and you gave me ideas for other kinds of veggies (I shared it with my hubby since he's the cook). Yummy, yummy, yummy. I do like soups so much.

Don't worry about popping in tomorrow. You just enjoy your day.

That's it for tonight. Going to put my PJs on and take it easy.

Hugs friends...sleep well and let's cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for us!

Good Morning,

Well, it's started snowing again in Oklahoma [Razz] What about your area? Keep warm and be safe!!!

Psalm 31:23-24 Beautiful verses. HOPE is wonderful! HOPE in the LORD because He is HOPEWORTHY, I mean TRUSTWORTHY.

"Love the LORD, all his faithful people!
The LORD preserves those who are true to him,
but the proud he pays back in full.

Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the LORD."

Friends, Take heart, be strong, for the Lord, Your God, is with you always!!

Good morning to you,

Snowing? I heard on the news Oklahoma was predicting snow for Monday. It's raining bucket fulls here. I was having a perfect hair day until I went shopping this morning for my Stefanie's birthday dinner tonight. Natures hair style today... I think I will keep it for now.

Hope is beautiful. I love Him daisy. I love the prayer you posted, very pretty and meaningful. Please tell me your answers to your questions above.

Good day to all my friends.

I most likely will have chocolate in my tummy tonight with cake.

MDW,

I'm sure you and your family are having a great time celebrating your daughter's special day! Enjoy the chocolate! [lick]

Oklahoma weather is crazy. Will Rogers said something like, "If you don't like the weather in Oklahoma, just wait a minute."

Well, whether you like it or not...it is always changing...and you are right we were expecting snow Sunday and Monday. Today was kind of a surprise.

I guess that's why OU (University of Oklahoma) has a major in meteorology (fancy word for weather) and there is a waiting list to get in. Ha!

So glad you posted "Everything". I heard the ending of that song a few days ago but that was it. Now I've heard the entire song. Really like it!

Did I tell you that I like your new "last line" on your posts. Hallelooooo!

Dekrator,

So glad you stopped in. You working and playing...great combination.

Look forward to hearing how it went.

We'll see you Sunday or whenever you get a chance to show up.

God give you strength...and my His joy runneth over from you and floweth to everyone who cometh into your path (OK, so I was being a little silly).

Friends,

A powerful scripture to share with everyone from God's Love Letter:

"Everything comes from God Alone.
Everything lives by His power,
and everything is for His glory."
Romans 11:36 (Living Bible)

Have a great weekend!

Sunny in Oklahoma today! Although weatherman says more snow Tuesday and Wednesday..7-12 inches!

It's always good to get a fresh picture of what God is like.

"And He took them up in His arms, put His hands upon them and blessed them" ~Jesus (Mark 10:16).

May you says His nearness, His presence today. You are not alone friend.

He is still in the "business" of blessing.

Blessings to you for peace, joy, and healing!

Good afternoon God Thought Friends,

Daisy with all the snow you are recieving, you must have a snow family created in your yard by now. I like your post (Mark 10:16) I looked it up in the bible to try and understand... I must still have a difficult time understanding the word "blessing." How is your grandson feeling? has he gotten over his illness and able to play in the snow?

I hope all my friends are doing well today. I was reading a bit ago and thought I would share.

Roy Lessin.....
As Only Your Father Could
The things your sight does not observe,
His eyes see clearly--
The things your thinking does not understand,
His mind knows fully--
The things your hands cannot grasp,
His grip holds firmly--
The things your strength cannot subdue
His power conquers completely--
The things your resources cannot fulfill
His riches meet abundantly--
The things your love cannot give
His heart gives endlessly!

Good day friends.

MDW, That write by Roy Lessin was beautiful. Thanks for sharing it.

Grandson is doing well. Saw him today when we celebrated my son's birthday (my grandson's daddy).

Blessing...hmmmm...Blessing...

It comes to my mind that when we say "thank you" about something...that thing we are thankful for is a blessing. And a whole lot more than that.

"Your ways, God, are holy.
What god is as great as our God?

You are the God who performs miracles;
You display Your power among the peoples."

Psalm 77:13-14

ALL...Have a good evening. [group hug]

Hi Friends,

I've been away... for the weekend with my dear husband!! He plans a weekend away every anniversary (#22). This year we're about 4 months late, but at least we got outta here!

As we were driving home today, I told him, "It's always like this. The first day I don't want to leave life (my kids), the second day is wonderful, and the third day I'm not ready to go back to life yet."

He knew I needed a reprieve, to be recharged. He knew I needed time to be taken care of, not to always take care of someone else, time to find who I am again.

Thank you, Lord, for a wonderful husband. Words can not express...

Hens...It's so wonderful that you were able to escape and have you time with your beautful husband. refresh and peace is a good thing.

daisy...I am reading Exodus, Pharaoh let the people go, and the people of Israel sang a song to the Lord, umm, praising the Lord. Then none of them trust the Lord anymore when their belly gets hungry and thirsty. Why? They saw what the Lord did for them. Could you refresh my brain...who is Amalek?

I think it sounds perfectly like us self-absorbed humans... when I'm sick or out of work... Why me? It's not fair! God's left me/forgotten me! I knew it - He never really loved me! Poor old me!

We fail to look for God's greater purpose.

It's a lot easier to trust something you can see and touch, even if it is just a rock, a statue, a star, a picture...or maybe riches, feelings, intellect, power, beauty, tradition, ritual, rules, security, and on and on.

hens, Your husband is super, and I'm sure he knows how thankful you are to have him. Seems he knows you better than you know yourself. [Big Grin]

Glad you could get away from everything, relax together, and get refreshed. Sounds wonderful.

What a great answer you gave MDW to her question. Are you a fly on my wall? [bonk]

I remember several years ago, I was reading about "them people" in the Bible complaining, complaining, complaining...after all God had done!

Then I remembered how I, too, had complained...and sometimes still do...and believe me God has done more than I could ask, think or even imagine, and He still is. [bow]

Oh, to be human. I'm glad Jesus was human, too. He knows how we feel. Pretty awesome, though, that He never sinned. [bow]

MDW, quite a few posts up you ask about Exodus...I really liked your beautiful answer...and as you saw, I changed your answer into a prayer.

Anyway...

BIBLE STORY, MY SHORT VERSION:

The people are in bondage in Egypt and the Pharaoh is very mean. God sends Moses to tell Pharaoh to let the people go. Pharaoh refuses.

God sends the Death Angel to kill all the first born male of every family...unless they take the blood of the lamb and put it on the top and sides of the door of their homes. When the Death Angel saw the blood the Death Angel would PASSOVER that house and the family was safe.

Pharaoh let's the slaves go free and they leave for the Promised Land, Canaan.

THOUGHTS

People are in bondage in this world. All trying to find something, searching for something, to make them happy.

The things the world has to offer, do not satisfy, in the end leave us empty.

Father God sent His Son, Jesus, to be THE PASSOVER LAMB. Amazing...Jesus died Passover week.

Jesus died on the cross. It is interesting to imagine that if you think about the blood on the cross...it is in the same place as the door in the story of the people in Egypt.

The top of the door...is like where Jesus head was on the cross.

The sides of the door...is like where Jesus hands were.

And if you imagine the blood on the top of the door it would drip down and make a puddle...and that is where Jesus' feet were.

Jesus is our PASSOVER Lamb. Setting us free from the bondage of sin, and leading us in this life on our way to The Promised Land, Heaven.

John 10:9a, Jesus said, "I am the Door..." Hallelooo \o/

Good night everyone. Praying you have a very good night's rest.

[group hug]

Daisy, I like your short version, I understand for now. The Bible has so much food between the OT and the New, but yet the gospel continues to relate to the old. Daisy?, do some people worship the Bible instead of Jesus.... say theologians for example or people trying to fill the void...the people who know the bible from cover to cover and preach to others, but yet do not do what God says?

I like John 10:9...you know I had to look it up in my Bible. "I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture."

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and answers. Midnight? Girl your going to be sleeepy today.

Hope all have a chipper day.

Good morning dear friends!

I've enjoyed reading and catching up.

Always so much to learn. Thanks for asking questions, MDW...and thanks for answering them daisy and Hens.

Hens, your husband is wonderful. So happy you go time away together.

We had a really nice time Sat eve at our Soup party. It turned out to be a smaller group than expected due to illness.

My Sister-in law called Sat and said several of them were coughing their lungs out and were congested and didn't want to spread it to anyone, so they stayed home.

So, 5 people and 2 soups didn't come.

Actually, it turned out very nice, because when there is a larger group, I often don't get alot of time to talk to everyone due to hostess duties.

There were only 6 of us, so I was relaxed and sat down and talked to them all evening.

I made a soup with chicken, zucchini, red bell peppers, carrots, onions, red skinned potatoes, thyme, rosemary, sage, parsley.

There was also white chicken chili and pasta fagioli.

We hadn't seen one of the couples in months, so it was nice to catch up and hear about their recent travels to Italy.

Sunday was filled with church, eating out and an indoor soccer game, playing with the boys, and the Super Bowl.

Friends, I have a prayer request...

My son, Andrew, in Iraq with the Army, will be flying to another location in a matter of hours.

No, he's not coming home yet, but it won't be long.

It is a dangerous area and always makes me nervous.

Could you please pray for his protection, safe travel and his health and well being?

Thank you, it would mean so much to me.

Praying you all have a wonderful day filled with God's love.

I love this scripture...

James 1:12 (NIV)

12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Dekrator, Welcome back. I've missed you! We've missed you! [kiss]

Thanks for sharing about Andrew. I am praying and I'm sure others will be joining in.

Here is a prayer for Andrew from Psalm 40:13-17,

Lord, We pray for Andrew.

Be pleased to save Andrew, LORD;
come quickly, LORD, to help Andrew.

May all who want to take his life
be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire his ruin
be turned back in disgrace.

May those who say to Andrew, ``Aha! Aha!''
be appalled at their own shame.

But may all who seek you (that would be Andrew)
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who long for your saving help always (that would be Andrew) say,
``The LORD is great!''

But as for Andrew, "I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
you are my God, do not delay."

Our trust is in You, Almighty Three in One, nothing is impossible with You.

You are awesome to protect, going before us, standing behind Andres, You're beside Andrew. You surround Andrew like a shield! We pray You and ask that You give Dekrator peace. You are faithful.

In the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit we thank and praise You for your protection of Andrew past, present, and future. My God, You are so awesome! AMEN! [bow]

(Have more to share friends...)
