tried to PM this person and it appears that they are no longer a member??? Ck'ed out Camp Others blog and they appear to have been banned from LN.
More censoring here?? I always found CO to be well researched and very helpful, not to mention, respectful, even when someone else here wasn't giving Camp Other respect in return.
The most credible people seem to 'disappear' from this site with great regularity...maybe that is why very few old timers are left at all.
no help in seeking a doctor, advice given out willy-nilly without respect potential harm etc.
the voice of reason is always silenced...Condor, Keebler, Camp Other....and many who went before them. Sad.

The blog is still up---www.campotherblogspot.com. CO was apparently banned from this site and would like others to know it isn't due to illness.
I am brand new here and I thought CO's posts were measured, reasonable and helpful.

Couldn't have said it better myself. What is the protocol? When is it ok to say what you feel? What kind of support site only allows certain people to have a voice?
Oh...wait, this post will get deleted so why even bother typing this? If someone had some sense of responsiblity to this community, then give us all a little respect and answer this question.
If not, then for those of you who are new here and expecting this to be an unconditional support group, you have looked in the wrong place. Blessings to you and I hope you find the right answers, but beware of those who are preying on those who don't know any better. Please use your gut. If it doesn't feel right, move on.
Camp Other was a HUGE benefit to this community here at LN and many others feel the same. If there was a truly justified reason for quieting his/her voice here then come out and say why.
Otherwise shame on LN. YOU don't own the lyme voice...we all have a right to the information that we can all gain from each other. Stop stifling the contributions and the information.

I read Camp Other's blog as well and s/he doesn't have any idea why s/he was banned.
Personally, I have respected the moderator's decisions in the past.
Perhaps someone could shed some light on this, if not to us, at least to Camp Other, whose posts were valuable.

The moderators most certainly do not need me to come to their rescue, but I must say that they have always tried their best to resolve situations that have arisen.
Keebler was asked to PLEASE come back. Condor made up her own mind to leave for her own reasons.
I find it very hard to believe that someone would be banned without a personal explanation as to why or the chance to make things right.

For the newer folks asking questions....
The moderators- a tough job it is- can't "ban" anyone (it isn't within their power or ability).
Also, it is not their responsibility to explain to other members the decisions made by them about other members, or by those who can ban members when needed.
The owner of LymeNet sets the rules here, as is done on most other sites. The owner can and will ban those who break the rules and the owner does not owe anyone an explanation.
Very few members (and there are over 22,000 just on this latest version of LymeNet) have ever been banned over the many many years LymeNet has been accessible to and helping patients.
I personally have not seen anyone banned that didn't deserve it and I'd guess the number of people banned (true members- not trolls) has been maybe as many as 10, at the most.
Just so you know... here are the rules everyone agrees to abide by when joining LymeNet.

Could they have left on their own free will? Maybe shut down by the powers that be (higher than Lymenet)? I remember Massman just mysteriously left one day after posting every day forever.

Tincup, respectfully of course, I disagree. The owners or whoever dunnit *must* tell people why they are banned. Further, they really should give them a chance to "Make it good" if something went wrong.
CO was never disrespectful, in fact I found him to be very gentle.
If someone inadvertently breaks the rules, it probably was inadvertent, especially in his case.
Yes you are right, we all have a responsiblity to know the rules. Fair enough.
But to say that they owe no explanation, I really disagree with that.
There's no reason why anybody should have to walk on eggshells or be concerned about the unfair practice of banning *Without notice* or *without explanation*.

Without reading all the posts, I will just say I haven't seen anything that Camp Other has said that is worthy of being banned.
Camp Other has their blog, hopefully whatever he/she needs to say will be able to reach the same audience there.
And I do think that the administration is morally obligated to fully explain their reasons for their decision to their users. Whether they do so will show whether they believe in transparency and integrity.

I'm known on the LymeNet Flash as "Lou B", my full name is Lou Bachmann ... I'm one of three System Administrators that support the LymeNet Flash and one of the seven members of the LymeNet board of directors.
First of all, let me remind all of you about the LymeNet Flash "rules" - Terms of Use/Terms and Conditions at: http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/ubb/agree_review Each of you clicked on "agree" when these rules were presented to you during your registration for the LymeNet Flash. About 5 years ago we adopted a "zero tolerance" policy in regard to the LymeNet Flash "rules" ... break the rules and you will be banned, no "numbered" list, no details/dates/specifics.
Any controversies are being caused by a few users who want to make an issue about the banning of a user. I suggest all our users focus on Lyme victims getting and giving help in dealing with these horrible tick-borne diseases.
The LymeNet Flash - enabling Lyme victims to help other Lyme victims!
Thank you,
