I am in Seattle over 500 miles from home. My LLMD appointment is tomorrow morning. When it is over, at 10:30, we have to drive all the way home - over two mountain passes. I hope it is not snowing.
The traffic here is unbelievable. I am so tense. We keep missing exits off the interstates trying to get to the office - trial runs! Although it is supposed to be ten minutes from the hotel, it took us half an hour to find it this morning. We are going to leave an hour early tomorrow.
No wonder I don't get to an LLMD! I don't know if I can do this again and I sure can't do it in a couple of months. I am exhausted.
Seriously. This is just too much.

It's hard to drive in traffic when you're not used to it!!! I live in a "small town" (sorta) but am from Houston. Going home is a challenge, esp since we have to drive thru Dallas too.
I hope the snow storms hold off for you!!

How expensive are flights? I am further away (in Canada), but there is certainly a point where the cost of gas and hotels plus travel times is less than the cost/time of a flight.
I didn't have to see my LLMD in person every month- only every 4 months, so that helped too

Thanks everyone. It is one and a half hours till the appointment. This is like waiting for life to change - or not change.
Flights are expensive. Last year my husband went with me to SF and it cost over $1000 for hotel and travel.
Travel is not my thing. I can't sleep well away from home and am not used to the constant noise and wild traffic.
One good thing. I had some wonderful seafood.

Just remember that they are not used to driving on snow in Seattle - you will be fine and I wish you all the best with your doctor.

Maybe once you get your bearings and find out where things are, it will be that much easier next time.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
