I am trying to stay gf but one of my favorite recipes calls for cream of mushroom soup. I have always used campbells but last time I tried an organic gluten free kind and it was not good.
It had a watery consistency and very little flavor which is the opposite of what I want.
Anybody know a good gluten free cream of mushroom soup?

- Use fresh mushrooms, could even be sauted in white wine. That will really help with some flavor.
Tapicoa Flour can be used as thickener. Guar Gum, too. Almond Milk - maybe a pureed tofu paste?
Onions or Shallots for richness of flavor and some substance.
If you have a link to the recipe or tell me what you are trying to make, I'll see if I can offer ideas. I'll check back later - gotta get a shower.
Did you cross search the gluten-free sites? -

- Not sure of that brand but you can find the label online to check.
To help you sort out if ingredents are safe - beyond gluten, see below. MSG is often included but under a different name. Just be sure to avoid it at all costs:

Wow, journeys! That is good to know. I wish I could eat dairy! Then I'd be all set!
Cream of mushroom soups in cooking is one thing I've really really missed!
I have a recipe to make your own but it's VERY INVOLVED. Then what do you do with all of it?

- Christina Cooks - likely will have a vegan mushroom soup recipe & organic. She uses Almond Milk in many of her dishes. Excellent site / show that is on PBS. -

My husband is the cook here, and he made me gf cream of mushroom soup to put in the freezer. It was excellent in all dishes. I can't remember where he found the recipe.
