- Cucumbers, Celery and Zucchini make a wonderful, cooling smoothie base. Add mint &/or a little lemon (or some ground corriander), and a tiny touch of stevia.
Fennel bulb might be very nice, too, that that might entail some experimentation. Mint & Fennel will make a nice duet.
Break off the tips of celery, backwards and pull of as much string as possible before cutting into chunks. Depending on the blender's powder, adust size of chucks to cut. Lower power blender, smaller chunks.
Lower power blenders may not be able to take the cucumber peel but, if it will, keep it on and let it get all groung up.
Add a bit of water at the beginning to take strain off of motor and get the juices going.
For those who "do" dairy, yogurt would be quite nice. -

- Higher power blenders can often make nut milk from SOFTER nuts like walnuts and pecans. Just rinse first and add enough water to get it going with a few nuts before adding more.
[Almonds would have to soak overnight and, even then, require high power blenders. Almonds can burn out lower power blenders, even after being soaked.]
Then you have a base of nut milk and you can add anything else. If just some nut milk, add a touch of stevia & vanilla extract. Nutmeg would be nice, too.
I've used walnuts and pecans with carrots, lots of zucchini and celery, tiny bit of ginger, etc. Makes it very nice, adding protein and fat. Very satsifying and delicious.
Works best with high powered blenders like VitaMix or BlendTec. Lower power blenders, cut smaller pieces and this may work. Or start with shredded carrots (a food processor is very nice for this). -

- CHIA SEEDS added to any smoothie will make it more nutritious and thicker (especially if stored in fridge to "gel").
Another nice treat: Soak about 2 TBS of Chia Seeds in a wide mouthed glass jar with about a cup of water. The next day, add a bit of coconut milk, vanilla and a bit of stevia and you have a pudding of sorts. Many variations on that theme are possible, too. -
