No question, just venting.

I haven't logged in for a long time, and was never that active a poster.

I was treated for ~4 years, starting in '08 (was sick for who knows how long before that).

Lots of my symptoms resolved but I've never really gotten over off/on problems with chronic fatigue/brain fog.

I work in a high demand/"breadwinner" job, and have an almost 1 year old at home. The last few weeks I'm heavily fatigued and feel like a failure at home and work.

Very grateful that I've gotten so much out of life since treatment, but always feel so lost when the fatigue hits.

So sorry, Wonko. [Frown]

You might get checked out and see what's wrong. I was feeling a bit more fatigue than is normal for me and went to a functional medicine doctor to get checked out.

Apparently I've had a c diff infection for the past 3 years since the kidney infection that landed me in the hospital! I have a lot of bad bacteria in my gut now that we are working on killing off, and leaky gut that is causing food sensitivities. (I have never heard of chronic c diff either ....)

It's not always Lyme ... and sometimes whatever it is needs treatment. I think it's easy for us to ignore things because we were so sick with Lyme. This is nothing compared to that so I discounted it, yet it ended up being something that did require treatment.

Hang in there and I hope you feel better soon!

Often ppl who have other stuff going on dont get all the way well.

A friend didnt respond to lyme tx until he removed heavy metals

Ive been reading mold sites lately...seems ppl dont get better from mold if they have lyme....and ppl with lyme dont get better if they have mold

Parasites the same

Six's answer would cover all of that stuff i guess

Hope you continue to search, Wonko.

A few things to explore:

histamine intolerance

salicylate sensitivity

Mast Cell Activation Disorder

leaky gut (yep)

candida

mold

Have you had your blood levels checked recently? Cortisol, thyroid, Vit D, etc. If any are low, you could do supplementation.

Speaking for me, I had brain fog until we found out I was low in T3, and when I started supplementation with Armour thyroid, I felt like I became present again, as my metabolism started to work better. That's just me, so I encourage you to do some medical sleuthing with a good doctor.

It's tiring enough just having a little one! Is caring for the baby interrupting your sleep? That could be part of it too.

If you are both working and taking care of an infant, I don't call that failure! I call that taking on a lot! So I think you need to cut yourself some slack and figure out anything that could make the load easier on you.
