After five years and two months, DD is finally going to get to try and go off of abx. This is a huge milestone for us, and I say us because I have been there every little step of the way with her.
She is starting a complete yeast cleanse tomorrow in the hope that her residual fatigue is being caused by yeast, candida. She will do this protocol for two months and then we will re-evaluate her situation.
I never thought this day would come. It's been a long, hard road, and I know that you all can relate. Her doctor said that even if she has to go back on abx, she has never had a patient to have to go back on abx(she does a pulse at that point) more than twice. I am hopeful.
I really think that DD was a little in shock when her doctor suggested this route. She was shocked in a good way though. She will continue with her herbal protocol in addition to the yeast and liver cleanse.
I just wanted to share our good news. For those who are still in the midst of the battle, please know that there IS light at the end of the tunnel for a lot of people with this illness.

That's wonderful!! Do know that yeast herxing can get very rough... don't immediately assume that the lyme is back.
Blue skies ahead!

I am happy for you. Please go very slow with the yeast cleanse.
I have been profoundly ill on the yeast cleanse due to die-off symptoms. Mine have been debilitating mental issues.
Just don't want what happened to be to happen to anyone else.
Best wishes on this new phase of the recovery.

Thank you everyone for the support. We have all of the detox and binders in place and are ready to kick some candidia booty!
If you think of us, please send prayers or positive thoughts her way. She is taking two online college courses this summer as well as taking a three week certified nursing assistant course at the local nursing home. I am just praying that she can make it thru AND do this detox.
