It has long been the case where I live that at health food stores you can be certified gluten free oats, or you can buy certified organically grown oats, but nothing with both certifications.
I imagine it is not different in other places.
I did locate a brand on the internet that I ordered that meets these specs, but I am not satisfied with it. These are rolled oats, and there are lots of other things that look very much non-edible. Some seem to be rotted and/or molded oats. Some seem like something other than oats, maybe a different part of the plant or something hard to say. Then other pieces of rolled oats are not rotted/molded exactly, but do look gross.
Anyway, back looking again. Anyone getting such a product that they are happy with? I do prefer rolled oats, but would consider whole groats or steel cut, rather than rolled, if the quality was there.

Yeah, I've had the same problems you describe. I must have the GF but also really want organic and thick rolled. I've not gone on a deep search but have spent more time than should be necessary to find this.
I've not found moldy ones but some have what seems to be rough chaff that just does not soften with cooking - that not just irritates my sense of enjoyment but literally cuts my mouth.
I've taken to using buckwheat as a nice breakfast naturally gluten free delight, though. -
