FALL IN NEW ENGLAND

The temperature chills,

Early morning starts to fog.

Hot, sleepless nights,

Now cool and crisp.

Maple and oak trees,

Tinged with vibrant colors.

Late afternoons,

Blanketed with nightfall a bit sooner.

Our gardens have grown tired,

Pumpkins and cornstalks abound,

Hayfields have gone from green to brown,

Morning frost has provided that first kiss.

The country store,

Boast a fresh supply of apple cider,

As locals cut wood,

For winters heat,

With great anticipation,

For the winter we are soon to meet…

So pretty! Thanks, Steve!

For the second year in a row, we have lackluster trees here in SW MO. It's just been too warm.

There's still a chance, but it gets slimmer every day.

That's beautiful - thanks!

I remember once when I was in Ohio for the fall, it all looked like puffs of colorful candy to me!

[Wink]

How sweet it is. And I like the poem too!

Maybe there is a benefit to being a Yankee.

For a few days a year at least.
