- Very well meaning, of course.
Yet, some of the wording here makes me very uncomfortable. Prayer is an intensely private matter for me and, likely for many.
It's fine to share and want to share matters of faith especially during health challenges. However, what's uncomfortable is the wording in the prayer - repeated many times over - for
". . . all these on this chat board and also on other chat " . . . "all the people on this board and all other lyme boards around the world.. ."
If I've not asked someone to pray for me, it just feels a little invasive since it's such a very private matter.
I've actually had some very bad experiences with this sort of thing in my past and it came to the point of being abusive. To see that all of us, whether we ask or not, whether we want it or not, are including in someone else's action, stirs up a lot of bad from the past.
Others, of other faiths may also feel more comfortable not being put into the whole group.
I wish I could say this in words that would work better and my thoughts may not be best articulated but I just felt I had to try to put a voice to the internal reaction.
So, I've been pondering this a while and just typed my question into Google:
"how to be inclusive in prayer for others but not invasive"
some nice thoughtful links came up so I know I'm not the first one to wonder this. -

About 2 weeks ago, I had one of the most crazy experiences of my life.
Someone lent me some products, and I just chose one, and rubbed one on my head, back of the neck, face...
Suddenly, it felt like I could not breathe...
I started gasping for air, my eyes filled with tears, I could not speak.
It felt like a hammer hit my inside, my soul, or whatever.
It took me 10 minutes breathless, ... then I started shaking, but I knew that meant the crisis was over.
I shook for many more minutes, but I felt much better. At least, I could breathe again.
I was in a public space, you can't imagine how embarrassing it was.
I think people thought I was having an epileptic attack or something like that.
I could not stop the crisis, like I can't stop a tsunami! -------------------
Yesterday, I discovered what was in the product I used, because I found the person who infused the energy inside it.
It was a prayer asking God for forgiveness and for us to accept that Jesus died in the cross for our sins, and sort of protect us (that is what I understood).
The water was infused through a plasma generator during the time of the prayer (he was a priest before he became a chiropractor) , and made it many times strong.
The energy of the prayer could be felt much stronger than if I only had heard the prayer (that would mean little to me).
If I had heard these words, I would have simply shut down, I think.
I knew nothing about what was inside the product until yesterday.
I just totally FELT the immediate effect of that prayer just by rubbing that water on me!
and it was HUGE!
That happened 2 weeks ago, and I'm still recovering from the experience, like I have a deep wound.
It did make me think about everything!
I'm more Buddhist, a sort of believer in many gods or nature spirits.
But that silent Christian prayer strengthened hundreds of times and recorded in water through that plasma generator, then sprayed on me on my head did something I cannot still believe possible.
That proved somehow to my skeptic brain that prayers do carry incredible amount of healing energies!!
What happened to me was undeniable. I'm still recovering now, more than 2 weeks after.
It also proved to me that no matter what you believe, when you pray for someone, skeptic or not, it can work!!!
So many Thanks to you guys for the prayers! Posts: 6196 | From Brussels | Registered: Oct 2007

- That has been scientifically proven too! What an amazing experience!

It was amazing.
If no one saw me, I could still deny what happened, and say it was my imagination.
The crazy thing was that I knew nothing about the content of that product.
How can something like a prayer cause such a powerful impact, even when we listen NO words, nothing?!
I guess I needed that prayer!!
another amazing thing was that, believe it or not, it worked like a hammer.
The energy was so intense that I could barely breathe.
How can a plasma generator record such a thing such as a prayer's energy in a bottle of Aloe Vera spray (that was the chemical content of the 'water')??
And the most crazy: How could my body decode that information with such a strength, because I knew nothing of its content??!
It's no wonder that people do prayers since the dawn of humankind....

He sure got your attention Brussels!
How cool how many different ways He can do that. He sure got my attention too. (not in the same way) After that, I pray more and study His Word. I've gained so much peace and strength since. And comfort!

Hi everyone, it was great to see this thread brought up again!!!
Lymenet Support is meant for all As a Christian, I include myself with 'everyone'.
I have had good benifits at times from Magnets, and said whether it is magnates, mud,or miracles...I would like to be healed,as soon as is possible. I believe God can use most anything that is good,to help us.
I certainly don't know everything, but I know that God is there. I understand that many believe differently. Each makes a choice.
May Healing come to all of us!

If a belief in God helps you on your healing journey then by all means, please share.
As a Christian, I do not look down on people of other faiths.
And every day I offer up prayers for those with Lyme.

Thank you for the opportunity to feel the presence of God in your prayer. Sometimes I think about how wonderful it is that every Christian can find a like-minded person with whom to share their thoughts about God. Since I met people from https://firstchurchlove.com, I have had even more light thoughts about Jesus in my head, and I have learned to pray in the presence of others. It's important to conquer this fear of collective prayer, and I succeeded. It was the first time in my life that I prayed out loud in front of many people, but I wasn't embarrassed by them at all. God allowed my heart to open up. I thank Him for that.
