Our net access has been everything from warp 7 Mr. Sulu to dead in the water - and I mean dead!
We have had the techs out 3 times in less than a week, had the modem changed out, then severe storms hit and the (old) underground lines got wet and service was sporadic if at all.
In theory, we are back up. For how long? Who knows?

Sometimes being away from the web is a good thing.
Sounds like even the techie folks are having trouble getting you guys hooked up.
Welcome back. Nothing much has changed.

Here was the "excuse" or "reason". They changed out the modem that died for a high speed modem - up to 40 mps. In our area the max speed we can get is 1.5.
One tech said it would be like having a sports car in your drive way and every day you back it up 15 feet and then go forward 15 feet. After a while the car is going to rebel.
That's what our fast modem did. It was trying to send out 40 mps speed and the line would only handle 1.5.
So we have another different modem. We'll see.

Hi <<<<< LymeNet Family >>>>>,
Just got my little ol' Laptop back from our tech folks, after storms and line problems. There were around 70 issues per the report, most small and about 7 were larger issues.
Hopefully, the weather will hold, and the new virus protection will actually work properly. So far no more rolling. I couldn't stay on but a couple minutes before w/o everything rolling.
It is nice to not have to fight a rolling computer.

Hi <<<<< Lymetoo >>>>>, LOL!!!
I don't know what it looks like the words go to fast to catch anything !!!
Course if it was really the laptop itself,it'd have to be in a dryer on air-fluff... that'd be a mess... LOL!!!
Glad to be able to get back on LymeNet!!!

My old computer somehow crashed and lost all my files three times. Luckily I didn't have anything particularly valuable on it. It was a new laptop too. I was really glad to get rid of it.
I miss talking to people that aren't looking at their cell phones.

Hello <<<<< LymeNet Family >>>>>,
We were out of touch for a bit, visiting a dear and aged friend. TrekC' lost his power cord for his laptop so is getting that replaced, and shopping a bit.
We were at rather high elevation, up to about 7,800 feet on our trip. the elevation frequently changed on our trip, most all of it over 5,000 ft.
That was difficult for Heart and Lyme Disease Co-infection patients. But it was well worth it to see our friend again, after almost 20 yrs.
After that visit, we stayed in a really beautiful cabin, solar powered for a couple nights. Both nights it stormed, and we watched the storms and lightning from the front porch of the cabin.
It was quite beautiful, and we got to hear wolves and coyotes howling. I wish we could get a refuge group here in Vegas for the wild critters.
There've been serious problems where we live, the week before our vacation break two small dogs were attacked by a coyote on our block. The more building and expansion goes on here the worse it gets.
As one neighbor says, we encroach on the wild animals territory and, then they encroach on ours. It is scary tho', what if the coyotes attack a child?
Well we are home now and resting, hopefully our laptops will behave now. Oh, part of the time' there was no cell phone service at the cabin,or others could ping us,but we couldn't return their texts. That was quite interesting .
Jus' Silverwolfi here, and TrekC' too !!!

Hi <<<<< randibear >>>>>,
Our friend lives near Albuquerque, and it was tough to breathe, I'm still tired.
It was worth it to see her tho', wish we could have had a longer visit. And that Cabin, Oh My, but it was gorgeous!!! Unfortunately we had to leave after 2 nights.
We didn't have time to acclimate to the even higher elevation there,it was almost 7,400 El. But I'll never forget the beauty of the area, And we got to stay for two nights!!!
I had to be very very careful, but it was worth it, and very restful. it was part of an early Anniversary present for us.
