Cats can remove ticks with their repeated grooming, but might not catch all of them.
Here are some of the ailments cats can get:

plus Bob Cat fever - bobcats don't seem to get sick with this, but it cam be fatal for cats.

There is no vaccine for bobcat fever so the best remedy is prevention - regular treatment for fleas and ticks.

That's terrible! And I was amazed at how many tick-borne diseases cats can get.
