Washed and dried a load of towels and folded them.
Took the recycling to the bins at the grocery store lot.
Cleaned a bird feeder and filled it with mixed seed.
Put the garden hose away in the garage until spring.
Trimmed the grass along the sidewalk and a few other places and put the trimmer away for the season.
Called mom.
Went to the public library where 6 books had come in for me.
Worked on a poem while using my grounding mat.
Leftovers for dinner and then a little TV and reading. I am watching the Bears/Commanders game on mute now.

Cute new thread for the week Hiker! You went gangbusters today!
I was a couch potato all day! Didn't feel like cooking today but did make scrambled cheese eggs with my leftover ham for brunch.
For dinner it was an instant cup of potato soup and raw organic carrots. Interspersed meals with Halloween candy.
Going to Josh's at 11:00 tomorrow to let in the gas company. Will probably get our usual Mexican fast food for dinner.
Sure am beat! See you all tomorrow!

Overslept by half an hour this morning. Then scrambled to get my chores done and food ready for the fellowship meal at church today.
Came home late afternoon n took it easy.
Did evening chores. Had about 5 or 6 silly guineas stuck in the chicken pasture again. They fly up on the chicken house roof and down into the chickens pasture. Then can't figure out how to reverse it to get out.
Instead they walk back n forth beside the fence nearest their house. So I unplug the fence charger, lift up the fence & prop it up, then have to go up past them on the outside of the fence and encourage them to go down & get out. Then if I turn the lights on in the guinea house and open the door, they will go in to bed.
By the time I got everybody penned up for the night, I needed a flashlight to go check the saffron beds. As I went down to the garden I saw something standing near the picnic area down by the creek. A buck!
Need to mix up the sourdough bread, then I'm ready for bed.

Warmed up on the exercise bike and did my knee and feet exercises.
Went for a walk—a little over 20 minutes.
Took a short nap after lunch.
Called mom.
Ended up back at recycling and then stopped in the grocery store for a few items.
Grounded on my mat for 35 minutes. Wind picked up this afternoon and too chilly to sit outside.
Took the landscape waste to the curb.
Grilling hamburgers tonight with yellow squash and spinach salad.
Then need to get the garbage to the curb.
I am going to test my new dishwasher for the first time tonight. Pray it doesn’t leak and washes and dries well!

Made me smile Manna thinking of your trained guineas! One thing I never get tired of is seeing animals, birds, etc. in the wild. Exciting to see a buck!
Hiker hoping your dishwasher does A OK! You're doing great with all the exercise!
Well today I noticed I'm sneezing, coughing and have a runny nose. I was just about to text my boss tonight and let her know and she text me first saying they've been sneezing and coughing all weekend. So looks like I caught a bug probably from my little lady who was sneezing alot on Thursday.
Still going in and working from 9-2. When I get home tomorrow I'll give myself a Covid test.
Glad I'm in bed and hoping to get some much needed sleep.

Baking day.
Also got the laundry washed & dried. Hung up the shirts, dress pants & dresses. The rest is waiting to be folded tomorrow.
FedEx dropped of a box of baking supplies, gloves, plastic wrap, bread bags, etc.
Tonight there was a new orange colored cat out in the barn. Doesn't seem real wild, though I didn't try to pet it.
The one neighbor had 2 young potbelly pigs escape and couldn't catch them. They gave up & said whoever catches them can keep them. The neighbor on the other side said one pig showed up at his house and was hangin out with his cats.
He's feeding it cat food along with his cats. The other day we saw one of his cats down near the garden with the piggy following it around.
Tonight there was only 1 guinea still in the chicken pasture. The rest all figured out how to get out. There was a second one sitting outside the fence beside the one inside the fence.
The one went in the guinea house and the other went underneath it. I tried chasing it out but it only went farther under so I gave up. That one will need to sleep outside tonight.
Hubby worked at painting his toolbox again today. He thinks that was the last coat. Its in 2 parts, the top is red with gray drawers and the bottom is gray with red drawers. He got it used and decided to see what he could do with it.

The potbelly pig anecdote is hilarious, Manna. You always have a critter story that makes me smile.
AK—hope you feel better soon.
Did my balance and shoulder exercises. Listened to several Christian podcasts as I exercised. Also rode the exercise bike for 25 minutes. Legs are feeling it.
Took a nap after lunch.
Warm today—about 80, but winds are gusting 40+ mph, so I didn’t sit outside. Used the grounding mat for 30 minutes.
Talked to mom and then chatted with a friend for quite a while.
Leftovers for dinner. Then a little TV an and reading.
And my new dishwasher worked great last night, although it took twice as long to run the cycle as my old one. I only use the dishwasher once a week or so.

Nice and sunny today.
Dug up most of my flower bulbs that need to come in over winter. Dahlias, gladiolus, calla lilies, and begonias. I forgot the African lilies. The bulbs are all stored in the cold cellar along with the geraniums.
Dug up the last row of sweet potatoes - it was mostly 'tails'. They were planted too late, it was too dry, and the deer had eaten the tops off. Next year I'll plant them earlier.
Another critter story - The dog likes to carry the kittens around in his mouth. They are getting kinda big, but he's not trying to hurt them. I am tired of trying to make him drop them, only to have them not run away and he picks them up again.
Today I was going down to the garden and he picked up a kitten and carried it along, then he went around the barn towards the pond. He'll go walk into the pond for a drink. I went the other way around the barn to check on him, and sure enough, he was in the pond with the kitten! He was picking up the soaking wet cat and carried it out of the pond! It was warm so I didn't worry about the cat.
3 hens were out of their pen today. Discovered one of the boys had opened the chicken gate & forgot to close it. The hens all came into the barn and went right in the pen when I went to feed them.
Made a batch of vegetable beef soup to can. There wasn't quite enough jars to fill the second canner, so we quick peeled & chopped up 2 pumpkins to fill enough jars. Waiting on the second canner to finish boiling.
Sent a box of fleece baby blankets down to NC for the flood victims.

Manna—how kind of you to send baby blankets to NC!! And I am laughing about your dog and kittens.
Went to the grocery store. So windy again today that the manager went with me to my car and then took the cart as I was so far from the cart return. He sees me with me trekking poles every week and is so nice.
Did my knee exercises.
Went to the dermatologist. As is the norm for me she found a spot that needed a biopsy. Glad it was my leg and not my face this time. She used liquid nitrogen on a spot on my hand, too.
After lunch I rode the exercise bike for 20 minutes.
Called mom.
Grounded inside with the mat for 30 minutes. Finished reading a novel.
Really warm today, so I had the front door open with the storm door locked and screen down. My duty rubber doormat on the porch went sailing in the wind and I had to go find it. Never had that happen before even in major storms.
One more windy day this week and then the temps will plummet about 30 degrees.
Cooking a pork chop, steaming green beans, and making a tossed salad for dinner.
Then a little TV and starting a new book.

I got off early today. My little lady had to go to Urgent Care for a chest X-ray per her home health nurse. Haven't heard any news and hope she's OK.
I'm still not well and my boss felt worse today. Hoping we all recover soon.
My Halloween plans with Josh are canceled because I'm still sick so no pizza and a scary movie.
Will turn out my carport and porch lights to discourage trick-or-treaters. Not safe to open the door at night in my neighborhood...sigh...
I used to love seeing kids in their costumes but guess it's a thing of the past now.
Manna I just loved the story of your dog carrying the kittens around in his mouth! I bet little kitty didn't appreciate the unexpected bath. Also what a great idea about baby blankets. I'm sure they'll be needed.
Hiker praying the biopsy comes out OK. Your wind there must be bad to blow that heavy-duty doormat away! I've got one at the front door that's never been moved yet.
You guys inspire me with all the activities posted and I'm hoping to post some soon myself.
Good night friends!

AK—I will walk candy over to my next door neighbor kids and then shut off the lights. Too many weirdos.
Did my balance and shoulder exercises.
Attended my Bible study via Zoom.
Went to get my new lenses for my glasses. Optician handed me several tootsie rolls. Haven’t seen those in a while.
Rode the exercise bike a little over 20 minutes.
Called mom.
Grounded on my indoor mat while reading. Then took a short nap.
Leftovers for dinner and then TV and reading. I am reading the new memoir by Hillary Clinton called “Something Lost, Something Gained.” Figured it would be a left wing book but it isn’t. Am learning a lot about the different roles she played in her political career and what she still does. Focuses a lot on her friendships and alliances so far with both political parties.

Happy Halloween folks!!!
Well my day was not good. I accidently smooshed my little lady's hand turing the corner while she was sitting on the seat of her rollator.
We had to take her to Urgent Care. I was already off work but went with them to help.
Her little hand is OK but it peeled a big section off. They flushed it and used steri-strips to hold the skin together.
It's going to take a long time to heal.
Please pray for her!
Once home Josh texted me to see if I was well enough to come over. So I picked up pizza and spent Halloween with him and watched....you guessed it....a scary movie!
I'm wiped out and worried and will be checking on my little lady over the weekend.

I rode the exercise bike for a warmup to my knee and feet exercises.
Put away the rest of my short sleeve t-shirts and got out some more fall shirts and even some turtlenecks. Need to iron them, still.
My power recliner broke last night and warranty is expired. I bought it when I had shoulder surgery and couldn’t sleep in my bed. Slightly too big but has gotten a lot of use.
So, I went to Lazy Boy and the first recliner I sat in spoke to me although I sat in quite a few. Glad it was on sale because they are expensive enough. Ordered it in brown leather and they said 10 weeks before it would be delivered.
Two of my wonderful neighbors took the old broken one apart and moved it out of the house for me. Moved a small manual recliner from my bedroom room to the living room and then I moved a chair from the guest bedroom to my bedroom.
Had to open both doors in front of to make an easy exit for chair. Noticed some screws loose on one part of the storm door and tightened it up.
I went to the school district office for some paperwork on insurance. Dropped library books off but didn’t get any more as I still have several to read.
Then stopped at grocery store to get some envelopes and while I was there used my reward points for organic blue corn tortilla chips as a treat this weekend.
Called mom.
Grounded for 30 minutes.
Filled the bird feeders.
It is no cook Friday, so heating up a Lean Cuisine TV dinner in the microwave and making a tossed salad.

No sleep at all but felt OK. Showered and made coffee and made eggs and cheese. Better than the package of cheese crackers I had for dinner.
Stayed in the living room today instead of in the bed so doing a tad better.
I know Doxy will kick my butt! As long as it gets rid of the sinus infection I'm OK with that.
Can't believe I have Covid again! Been reading my AARP magazine about Covid and they recommended taking Paxlovid which I did last time. My allergist prescribed it for me. I didn't this time.
Something about helping to prevent long Covid.
Oh made a pot pie for dinner so eating more but my food doesn't taste to great. Been like this all week.
Anyways in bed already and might medicate myself to get some sleep. I should be tired but I'm not which worries me.
Goodnight friends!

Did my balance and shoulder exercises while listening to Christian podcast.
Cleaned out several drawers. One in the bathroom and my “junk” drawer in the kitchen.
Went to recycling bins at the grocery store lot.
Called mom.
Watched the Illini football game in a losing cause to my parents’ Alma mater—University of Minnesota. Used my grounding mat for 45 minutes while watching.
Spent a long time picking out books online to order for my usual Christmas charity donation.
Changed my clocks—fall back an hour.
Finishing up the Hillary Clinton book tonight and then probably will start another novel.

Washed a few windows inside and outside. Its amazing what a difference it makes!
Invited 2 families from church for lunch tomorrow.
Cooked up extra food for tomorrow. Mashed potatoes, chicken & gravy, peas n carrots, lettuce salad, and for dessert a glazed apple cake, oatmeal cookies, and a fruit salad.
Washed several loads of laundry.
Cleaned up some empty flower pots & put them in the greenhouse for next year.
