A request to Oprah to do a show on Lyme disease has started! It's at http://boards.oprah.com/WebX/.f161b7a/0 -- the stories posted there already are incredible -- let's go...

I posted too with a possible link between hurricane Katrina and our growing problem here.

Maybe that will get her attention as she has been diligently dedicated to helping Katrina survivors.

I asked that she show the same dedication to victims of Lyme disease which is

Just as life changing and devestating as the effects of Katrina.

Maybe that will spark some interest.

Hugs,

Geneal

I have tried many times to post and I get a message saying the boards are closed. I don't get it.

Betty, I tried to do paragraphs, but they count every space as a character count. I had too much to say.

If you're misdiagnosed in Lyme, CT, would that fiasco be called a Lemon?

Hi -- I encourage you all to go check out the Oprah site -- the writings there are incredibly moving. If you want to post, you will need to sign up and log in. I think it's worth it asking Oprah for a show, as the show has a high public profile.

If you like the idea, please pass the suggestion on to other Lyme groups you're involved with.

I always thought that perhaps Oprah Winfrey could help get this disgusting disease in the Lyme(lol) light. Maybe she can help us in devoting a show so we can get treated correctly. I responded on Oprahs website, hoping to get her attention, strength in numbers...! Hope Floats~

She's also a great fundraiser, and the Columbia Endowment fund and LDA are a great start.

yea, lymies, are being heard and read about! noticed oprah's moderators addressed 2-3 of our lymies on questions and/or about NOT showing links due to virus/worms, etc. [Wink]

Now 137 postings! Amazing stories. Oprah's got to respond!! Also, I saw there's a fibromyalgia group, so I posted about my fibromyalgia turning out to be Lyme disease.

There's other support groups there too; might be interesting to take a look and see if your Lyme symptoms are showing up under another support group heading.

The Oprah stories keep coming in -- up to 151 now a couple days later, and heart-breaking ones too. The moderator is watching this board. So keep the stories coming in please, and let others know to do so.

You can also send them a message at Tell Us Your Idea, but that post cannot be seen publicly, and we also need story visibility -- very compelling, and reading others' stories can help you formulate the story you want to tell.

[lol]

Now why on earth is this important topic posted in the Medical Section?

If you all can keep your big traps shut.. I'll go make some noise over there till I get booted off. And I am doing it for my friend RR.
