Can someone tell me where to find info on why q10 should not be taken with mepron? i have seen several threads but nothing that I would forward to a doctor.

I had my visit with LLD and picked up more clindamycin and told to continue mepron and told them I read how you should stop q-10 while on it and they wanted more info.

thanks

Cathy

Mepron needs fat
coq10 is fat soluble

they dont mix.

I couldnt find the information on the net, other than other forums saying not to take them together. I will keep looking

It's not the explanation you're looking for, but in "Diag Hints & Treat Guidelines..." under "Nutritional Supplements...", Dr B says:
"CO-Q10 (ubiquinone) - required if not taking the prescription drug atovaquone (Mepron)."

This is the only place I've seen this info.

I don't understand this. We MAKE CoQ10 ourselves, though we don't know how much we make (RDA unknown)when we exercise! We all have been "preached" about re: how important exercise is. This is why we get patients out of bed post op so soon nowadays.

SOME CoQ10 is already IN foods.

CoQ10 carries hydrogen into the cells. This is EXTREMELY important to healing.

One of the nutrients required to make CoQ10 is B6...which needs extra Mg...

All documented in my updated nutshell post.

Only ONE study indicated a POSSIBLE relationship between a pathogen mutating while on Mepron and CoQ10. It wasn't Bb.

Do the abx. cause mutations? Is that why Bowen lab seldom sees anything BUT CWD forms of Bb?

This has been speculated by others before.

CoQ10 has been used to fight/cure cancer. Into a search engine, type in: "CoQ10 cancer". Cancer, a virus, also uses sugar, not oxygen for energy.

"CoQ10 is fat-soluble and absorption is significantly improved when it is chewed with a fat-containing food."
http://www.diagnose-me.com/treat/T89678.html

They are apparently competing for using the fats...why not increase the fats - EFAs?

The abstract on Mepron, CoQ10 is on PubMed.

And his reason for this is as follows: mepron works by interfering with how babesia uses co-q10. Supplementing with co-q10 may therefore make the mepron less effective.
