hello Pepsi
I have a picc line in, it was placed on August 25th in my upper arm above my elbow but bewlow my shoulder and hadn't really had a problem eith it.
After about 2 1/2 weeks I didn't even know it was there amd never do unless I happen to bump it real hard or yank on it! (I keep doing silly things and yanking on the stitches) That is NOT FUN!! They just had to put new stitches in so mine is a little itchy so to speak now but it is where the stitches are not where the line goes in. I can't even feel that spot as hurting when I just touch it.
It shouldn't take but a couple of weeks and it will be better and you will be set to go. I do anything I can/want with my picc line. I work with the post office and when I was still able to work I tried working then. I didn't have any trouble working the mail (and I sort and box mail lefthanded) just afterwards I was a little sore, the fatigue was the killer for me!
I am not sure a hot heating bad would be such a good idea just gets really HOT. That will make it sweat more which makes it itch more etc etc etc.
You should start to noticing a change in the picc line and how it feels soon i think.
Stacie

Pepsi,

It will probably be fine soon. My second PICC line stayed red longer than the other one, but NP was not concerned.

It did finally go away and stop itching.
