For the last week I've had a flare up with hemorroids but it's more swelling type pain and mass discomfort?

Haven't had hemorroids since the birth of my daughter 10/96. Currently on Zithromax the last 30 days and have had vaginal discomfort.

Recently I stopped taking Zithromax for two days but that didn't seem to make a difference.

I saw my regular MD and she gave me Diflucan (currently taking nystatin) and a hydrocortisone type cream for hemorroids.

Of course I'm nervous about taking this since it has cortisone and I'm highly reactive to cortisone.

I've tried witch hazel and preperation H but nothing seems to touch the pain.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't know the answer to your question, but here's a page that

compares natural hemarrhoid treatments, and

a comparison of pharmaceutical OTC products, if that's any help.

also, a product that directly applies cold: http://www.hemorhoid.com/

I don't know if it's related or not, but in the past some people have posted that they have noticed a lot more skin tags with the LD. Since hemorrhoids are associated with a specific type/location of skin tag...( see http://www.hemorrhoid.net/cryptitis.php)

You didn't say anything about constipation so I assume that's not an issue for you?

Any other indicators of inflammation?

Hope this gets better SOON!

Quick note-

You may want to treat a vaginal yeast infection with 2 weeks of Monistat. See Dr. Burrascano's Guidelines for more info.

You said..

"Recently I stopped taking Zithromax for two days but that didn't seem to make a difference."

Zithromax lasts in the system for weeks after you stop taking it. 2 days off wouldn't make a difference.

It is well known to be a killer antibiotic for good and bad bacteria. Are you taking acidoplulis?

Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you Tincup!

I've been taking acidophillus and watch my diet close.

I'll check out Dr. B's information and see if I can learn something new.
