I've also read that detoxifying the liver is also the key. But Dr. Smith does list some kind of diet on the website, too.

I heard about this long before the internet & so this site is relatively new to me, too.

This was developed by a dermatologist in Oklahoma for his patients. It took him a long time to discover Bromide was one of the missing ingredients. Interesting story of how he formulated it & all.

I've never tried it, but have learned about a lot of things trying to find out what was wrong with me pre-lyme diagnosis.

A few Possible things that I thought of for my own condition that can cause this:
- Fungal. Ive generally believed this is my problem, I used to think, some kind of external fungus like athletes foot? and I tried external antifungals (tea tree oil) with limited sucess. I am accidently seeing improvement since I am now aggressivly changing diet and taking supplements to kill candida, an internal fungus. Very hard to control fungus when on antibiotics.
- Excema. Dont know much about this, but people I know with medical diagnosis of it seem cured by dietary changes, and getting rid of external irritants, in one case complete avoidance of soap of any kind, she can just handle washing with warm water. wether this may also relate to allergies or fungal, I dont know
- external irritants, ie. shaving, types of body products ( soap, shampoo etc. used), water ( chlorine ? very hard ? etc...) In my house I was using a very natural soap based shampoo with very hard well water, which can leave a residue, so I changed shampoos as a first thing to try
- When did this start ? After antibiotics? other symptoms you might have ? give it lots of thought to help narrow it down

I was starting to see dry skin spreading past hair line to very sides of my face, so I am very glad to see improvement, and I hope it continues, and that you can get relief also

I posted this a while ago, but never heard back if it worked for them. That person was on the anti-cancer drug, methotrexate, for psoriasis!

I never had flaky skin until I started antibiotics... after 6 months on them it started.

It is gone now... I dealt with the candida.
My skin would bleed on my neck from the flaky skin.

Probiotics are sometimes not enough.

Nystatin is very effective for me. It is cheap as well. I use the tablets.
