I did the homegrown Candida "spit in a cup" test. And OMG, it looks like these little string like arms are growing from my spit after like 15 minutes, spiraling and reaching downward, like some kind of twisted sci-fi creature that only George Lucas can dream up.
I have been on 200mg Diflucan for 9 days and still failed the spit test, even though except for a still somewhat white tongue and fatigue, I don't have the major yeast symptoms that I started out with.
I am also on the right diet, probiotics and other supplements, don't know why the Diflucan and the rest wouldn't have cleared me up.
If the test is valid, I guess I can't get off the Diflucan until there are no strings.
What have been some experiences with Diflucan not working?

I am not sure how conclusive it is, but I am pretty sure it's not really the most accurate test out there, by no means is it a measure of yeast 'load'. I am sure they have blood tests to dive deeper into that.
Depending on how deep in infection is, I hear it can even take 6 months to get over it. Some people more, some less.
But there are variables: how strong your immune system is, how long you had the infection, how strict of a 'yeast fee' diet you follow, if you have leaky gut, etc...
There is tons of yeast info in this site. You just have to search around.

In my opinion, anyone on long term abx is going to have long term problems with yeast. If you were recently infected and don't have late stage lyme, it may be easier to clear.
My experience is that you have to keep after it all the time. Diet is very important. And don't be fooled by "sugar free candy and cookies."
