My son has had horrible (no pain meds help) headaches for 51/2 years now....also unbelievable fatigue and myalgias.

I thought I read that these symptoms could indicate babesiosis.

I believe he has this co-infection and before I, once again fax his doctor.....I want to know/gather clinical info.

My downloaded info from Dr. B.'s guidelines say severe headaches can be a symptom.

Help!

Yes, for me headache is a babesia symptom, along with lack of appetite and feeling too warm.

Ask dr to test for Babesia. MDL does an antibody test and a PCR.

He has been tested in the past two years but never a positive.....

but I don't know if any lab beyond Quest has been used this past year. Did show up borderline for ehrlichia in 2003 (Igenex)

He is rail thin and has no appetite now for over a year.....keeps losing weight (no muscle at all)

and I read how people gain weight

Let me be blunt. DEMAND that he be treated for babesia immediately!

This has obviously gone on too long. Babesia tests are no better than Lyme tests. Get him treated!

I used to have severe headaches, but no longer since babesia treatment!

I agre with lymetoo..every once in a whhile this board leans toward getting so hung up on getting 'positive tests' prior to gettting treated...

YOU DO NOT NEED A POSITIVE LYME, BABESIA, BARTONELLA OR OTHER COINFECTION TEST TO GET TREATED!

PLain and simple..if you have the symptoms..GET TREATED! Testing for lyme and other coinfections is so unreliable and unpredicatble depending on so many factors that it is rediculous to depend on it in order to get treatment and get well.

if you have the symtoms get the treatment..

If he's had babs headaches for tht long, I'mm with lymetoo DEMAND treatment for babs or find another lllmd who WILL treat him for babs...it'\s just that easy!

DR> jones in ct will treat based on symtoms if you're finding the doc he's with won't. his phone number is 1-203-772-1123

And if I haven't said it enough...stop depending on these blood tests.....if you have a positive great...if you have a negative, it NEVER means you don't have it!!! the symptoms TELL THE TRUTH ALWAYS!!!
