Hello all my computer crashed and I am just now getting back on. I am really depressed and frustrated and I know alot of you have been dealing with this for a very long time. I am so swollen have pitting edema from my knee down on both legs. My stomach is so distended and i'm miserable. Sorry I am just about to lose it. I have posted about this recently and received good advice but i need to know how to get electrolyte mix nobody here has it. Have done the baths, jumped on a mini tramp brushed my skin drank water with lemon what else please I have to work but I can't wear ANY of my own clothes. At this point I am only eating the peanut butter to take my mepron amd zith. Please tell me there is something that helps or at least that I'm not in heart failure.

Hi, Mimi. Hang in there....

Have you had a cardio evaluation (EKG, echocardiogram, stress test)? They aren't 100% accurate, as Tabby could tell you, but its a good idea to check out your heart if you suspect a problem.

Not sure how it reacts with ABX, but I've always found Alpha Lipoic Acid to be a good pick-me-up. You could try starting with a low dose to see how you tolerate it, and work your way up.....

Feel better.

Hello,
Im sorry you are feeling so badly. I know about feeling bloated. Im not dealing with as much as you but Im retaining a lot of water since starting intense ABX. All my clothes are too tight.

I have had an itchy blasted rash for 2 years that finally got under control and now I have had a nasty herx and it came back. UGH! It covers my body and looks nasty too.

Somedays I cry myself to sleep and ask WHY? I dont get an answer. My kids are sick too. Mylittle 6yo son had congenital lyme and we JUST got well and then got bit again and tonight he said his joints hurt him. He has been on meds since before being bitten. IT STINKS! He had NO SYMPToms till this recent bite.

I wish I had advice for you on how to deal with your situation but I dont. I only told you mine to let you know I understand your misery.

People that dont have lyme just dont have a clue. I try to explain it to people but they just look at me like "ok this lady is nuts"

I sincerely hope you get relief soon. Iknow what its like to be at the end of your rope.
take care,
pattiecake

Pattie, I am so sorry about your rash/herx and your son that's terrible I feel stupid complaining I know I'm not alone but I think I'm about to lose my career so just want to feel better at least enough to get by.

Thanks again take care,
mimi

You may get some help with the bloating by eliminating the peanut butter. It's probably causing yeast in your gut. I know you need fats, but others here can give you ideas on substitutions for the pb.

As for the swelling, I don't know.

Mimi,
Oh my, you sound pretty unhappy.
If your stomach is distended, you could try wearing something like sweat pants, with an elastic waist. Hopefully, that will be temporary.
BTW, measure your waist with a measuring tape, so that you can tell the doc.

If your lower legs are swollen, be sure to elevate your feet.
If you sit in the living room, sit on the sofa with your feet up on it.
If in a chair, put your feet up on another chair.

In bed, when lying on your back, put a pillow under your calves. This will elevate your feet above your heart, and help the extra fluid to drain.

If you're using a rebounder, start out with very gentle jumping for a couple minutes, with your feet staying on the mat.
It's the up and down motion that helps the lymph system drain.

You can find electrolyte mixes at iHerb.com.
Just put "electrolyte mix" into the search feature, or the name of the product if you know it.
http://store.yahoo.com/iherb/electromix.html http://store.yahoo.com/iherb/orange.html

You get a discount at the checkout, free shipping over $20, and they do ship quickly.

Symptoms of heart failure include a wet cough and shortness of breath.
Here is a page with symptoms: http://health.allrefer.com/health/heart-failure-symptoms.html

Call you doctor if you have these symptoms.

I hope this helps.
Carol

Geez Mimi,
Im sorry if I came across as making light of your situation. I was just reading your story and feeling sorry for all of us having to deal with this aweful situation and it just sort of poured out of me.

I get very emotional lately.

I really hope you get some relief.

maybe do a google search on herbal diuretics and see what comes up?

Hey, Mimi:

Hang in there. I too have been feeling down, like I am never going to get better. And now, even my MDs are starting to argue about what would be the next best thing for me, as 2 of them think we are just "throwing bandaids" at the symptoms. UGH! It is so frustrating.

As Carol mentioned, get the electrolytes from i-herb.com. Order the Alacer sports drink powder in packets. It has zero sugars in it. My main doc has me drinking this every day.

Try to get some food into you. I am losing weight so rapidly that I literally force myself to eat. I have added some complex, unrefined carbs back into my diet because I found that I was lacking in energy otherwise. They also help to bulk me up and to get the much needed B vitamins into me. Try millet or brown rice. I am not noticing any yeast problems with these.

As for the tummy, try a shake of psyllium husks and bentonite clay in water or juice. It is both cleansing and soothing to the gut.

Bc

I am so sorry Lymetoo did not forget about you. You have been so helpful to me and i'm glad you are back with us. I appreciate the help. Do you know what else besides drinking olive oil I could try? Not much for bacon so I thought peanut butter might work. Thanks again!
