I have been taking zithromax for about two months.

Mostly it didn't make me feel as bad but it does make me very sleepy. Sleepy is one of my worst symptoms.

I just went to see my LLD in mo this week and he changed things to treating babesia.

My IGENEX test did not show babesia. I have awful sweats and it could be hormones.

I also had the HEMEX test last year and both my MD and my LLD think that heparin is helpful.

I just started the heparin yesterday. I stopped the zithromax about four days ago but I am still being very sleepy.

Could this be from the zitro and has anyone used Heparin and what did it do for you?

I did have a abnormal HEMEX test.

Please let me hear from someone.

Thanks,
Suttles

I am taking Heparin shots twice a day. I'm also on Zithromax and Ceftin. I've only been on the Heparin for about 2 months so its probably early to have any type of results. If you are having die-off, its probably working for you.

I haven't noticed tiredness as one of the symptoms from either of these. I'm always tired from the Lyme disease. The ABx's have made me feel worse than usual (from herxing).

You may be experiencing tiredness from hormones, like you said. My thyroid was very low and I've noticed since being on bio-identical hormones for thyroid, I'm not quite as tired.

I started my treament with just zithromax and was exhausted and upset about it. As time went on, the exhausted abated.

All summer I had horrible insomnia, except for the two day a week I took zith.

Now I'm on zith and plaquenil, and I'm sleeping like a baby and loving it.

My kids have been on zith/ mepron, and zith/ mepron/ ceftin since April. They were very exhausted for a long time, but within the past month both of them are seeing renewed energy.

I think zith resolves a lot of infection, and then our bodies have to heal from the celluar damage the infection has done. Bodies grow, heal and repair with sleep.

Since giving in and being thankful for the sleep, I sleep beeter, and have better quality wakeful times.

Zith can stay in your system up to two weeks. So the fatigue is probably still from that. Some people report that adding Heparin in to the mix can make herxing worse for a while. I was on Heparin for 15 months and found it very helpful with brain fog, energy and joint pain.

Best,
Karen

If zith is worsening your symtoms, it could be a herx reaction. This would be intensified by adding in a blood thinner.

I took zith for 10 months, never experienced sleepiness, and felt like I really progressed on it. Sleepiness was never one of my symptoms.

After 10 months of zith and flagyl I had more strength and energy

Good luck.

OK...You have sleepiness as one of your main symptoms.

Zithromax makes you sleepy...= herx

Heparin makes you sleepy...=herx

Yes, you can "herx" on heparin. It helps the zith [it's long-acting] get deeper into your cells since it clears out the fibrinogen.

In time, the heparin will make you feel better!! [Smile] [just my experienced opinion!]

Heparin thins your blood and that can make you sleepy.
