Hi all

This is day two of low dosage clinda - ten days I go to high dosage (a ramp up).

I'm definitely not happy right now. It's not intolerable but considering the mepron/ketek cocktail felt fine and this is definitely sick-stomach time... I don't like it at all.

So far it's mostly discomfort in my stomach - some pain and tender to touch. As yet no diarrhea but this is definitely affecting my gut - lower and upper. I was uncomfortable sleeping last night (I took it 1.5 hours before going to bed).

I feel a little bit lightheaded and had one short bout with dizziness (but I was in a steep turn in an airplane, which could make you dizzy but never has before). No rash or anything.

I am taking more acidophilus than I was before in the hopes this would help. I don't want to have a stomachache (or worse) like this for several months. How long has anyone reading this, been on this particular medication?

I stopped the mepron cold turkey Tuesday night and went straight to Clinda yesterday. Could this be part of the problem - an adjustment?

argh!!

Don't know what to tell you. I don't remember any side effects, other than tremendous herxes.

Both, hubby and me, have done several courses, last time 60 days in a row, and we tolerated it very well.

The only thing is that it can cause a nasty candida overgrowth. Take care with your diet and stick to the lots of acidophillus.

All the best,

Gabrielle

thanks ya'll.

I had a ton of acidoph yesterday, the liquid kind, and I think you are right, in just one day I have a coated tongue despite all that extra stuff.

however last night I felt like I was gut punched. it was awful. I didn't take my third dose (3x a day, 150 mgs each for ten days then double) because I wanted to get some sleep. I didn't take it this morning either. she may get mad at me but we have to find something better.

the mepron and ketek made me 95% asymptomatic but little bits and pieces keep kicking in. (minor, very minor). but I will say this, I had night sweats last night despite an open window and a sheet only... so maybe it is killing something off after all?
