I use to get them all the time and hated taking abx for them. Now if I feel one coming on, I will take Golden Seal (only 1 week), Echinacea, maybe some Colloidal Silver. Others here may have some better ideas about herbs.
The best thing I ever did for my sinuses was buy a sinus irrigator called Grossen (got it off the Internet). You can put a few drops of tea tree oil in it along with the salt and baking soda. It clears it up fast. Sometimes I also add Grapefruit seed extract -- strong stuff -- add a few drops only.
Steam helps too -- run hot water and put a towel over your head and breath in deeply for as long as you can stand it.
I think lyme has set itself up in my sinuses and has caused so many of the infections I use to get. I even had sinus surgery but it didn't help much.

For OTC: Zi-Cam does seem to work, if used early on. Otherwise, try the Clenzology nasal rinses (facial solutions) or a simple salt & water flush. Ride it out as best you can without too much OTC help, other than the herbs mentioned by others.

ABSOLUTELY!!!
Fixed mine up. I put cheap homebrew C silver into my grossen and haven't had a sinus infection sense. I also use sea salt for the trace minerals to mix with. Highly recommended.
