WOW! I took this in part from the URL below. I only took part as it is a VERY long article. Though the whole article WAS very good.

I mainly put it here, as I was shocked by the part I am posting below about the mercury being in the FLU VACCINES that we get. I am wondering HOW we can find out WHAT vaccines have them, and which do NOT?!?!?!

Controversy over autism eats at credibility of CDC
Alison Young - Staff
Thursday, April 6, 2006

http://www.ajc.com/today/content/epaper/editions/today/news_44437aaa906db0c7003f.html

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, rarely the subject of public controversy, is facing an emerging credibility crisis on the emotional issue of whether old-style vaccines containing a mercury preservative caused autism in thousands of children.

In 1999, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the U.S. Public Health Service and the American Academy of Family Physicians issued a joint statement concluding that while there was no evidence of harm from the use of thimerosal in vaccines, it should be removed from pediatric vaccines as a precaution.

Except for some influenza vaccines, thimerosal has been removed from most vaccines routinely given to children age 6 and younger.

Sources: CDC, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Toxicology Program, and the Autism Society of America.

I have not had a flu shot for years for this reason.

It is a sad fact that autism had never been seen on the continent of Africa, until our country began sending vaccinations for children there. They are seeing it for the first time now..in large numbers..thank you BIG PHARMA.

I believe this is why Congress has moved to protect the pharmaceuticals from lawsuits.

It is a true disgrace. The CDC has become a joke, IMO. Not only have they botched lyme disease...their predictions of bird flu within weeks due to migrating birds has been a bust. Not one migrating bird has tested positive so far.

In the meantime they have been stocking up on Tamiflu in preparation for the coming pandemic.
This treatment likely will not work in the event of an outbreak.

Our tax dollars are making stockholders wealthy in the meantime. Donald Rumsfeld, as a stockholder, has had 7 million dollars set aside in a trust as a result of the CDC big buyout.

This truly is the era of big business...getting rich on the backs of the middle class.

Sorry for the rant...thanks for posting, Bob...it does come as a shock to realize that our government is not really looking after us.

I think almost all shots have mercury in them. Some of our childrens shots had african bull frog urine. ( yes, they did).
I know this well and the dangers because I have an autistic son, one who happened to have a shot at birth called

Energix B.. that they no longer give to children. It had thermosol out the wazoo in it.

On another note,JB, I took the resveratrol after trying to take the sarsaparilla ( allergic to that one for a definate fact). Resveratrol REALLY helps.

I tried to do the PM but I kept getting web site not responding.

Guys,

This type of discourse doesn't help anyone. Frankly, Big Pharma has contributed significantly to doubling the life expectancy in the developed world in the last 70 years.

As someone who studies healthcare policies (I am a student), I know how hard it can be to not give in to these kinds of discussions. Let's not get into gov't bashing for the sake of it.

Sure, mistakes have been made (and they're inevitable) but it's not all bad. For a disease that has a few 100k people (lyme), we're not doing that poorly. Think of all the people that have the common, but neglected diseases, where MILLIONS of people DIE every year because little to no research is dont to help them.

I was a patient of Dr J (NC) - and was comming to speak to Duke University Infectious Disease Docs - and I asked him, so how will you prove to them that you're right? He said: "I'll prove them with logic and facts. Personal attacks don't work.". I think he was right.

Sorry for the longer message - I suppose I needed to vent too. [Smile]

With one in every 160 babies born with autism, this is a MAJOR health crisis.

I believe there is a MAJOR health crisis with tick-borne diseases in diagnosis and treatment.

The same was true of AIDS.

In the case of Aids the discourse produced by patients finally moved the government into action.

There is indeed a need for this type of discourse, in my opinion. Absolutely nothing will be done by the government without this kind of discourse.

I know first hand that parents of autistic children have a life long burden.

So, NewDurham, I don't mean to sound disagreeable
and I know you mean well...but I am quite passionate about these things.

At age 70...maybe I'm just a cranky old lady. [loco]
