Yup. My cholesterol was LDL 198 and HDL 19. They put me on Lipitor 10mg. Now my LDL is 91 and my HDL is 71.
I think Lyme screws with your cholesterol too.

Yes, my cholesterol has been high. Lyme does mess with cholesterol from what I've read. I've been taking OTC things for cholesterol and was able to bring it down enough to make my doctor stop trying to get me to take statins (I would never take them).
Now I'm on cholestyramine (a cholestrol medication) per LLMD to get rid of biotoxins from bug die off. Also gets mold toxins if you have them. My cholesterol is perfectly normal now and my regular doctor is quite pleased.
Perhaps you should research cholestyramine and consider asking your doctor to put you on that. Kill 2 birds with one stone. Some people with lyme have a hard time on it. My LLMD has me on actos to help with the side effects of getting rid of biotoxins.
I'm not a doctor, just thought it might be worth considering. It would be a way to take care of cholesterol plus biotoxins if that is an issue for you. The only thing I'm not sure about is if there is a difference in dose. I take 3 envelopes per day and the product is packaged as if 2 envelopes is the normal dosage. I read something by Dr. S. that it won't be very helpful if you aren't taking enough. You'd have to check it out.

One other thing, keep an eye on your blood sugars (too high or low) if your cholesterol is out of whack. In my research and in my own experience, cholesterol and blood sugars are closely tied.
