Hi Peacesoul,

I was dx'd with stenosis abt 10 yrs after the first bite in '87. That was undx'd, until the second bite in '06.

I have many lumbar spinal issues, DDD, AS, OA, and a few others that I can't remember at the moment.

My knee, wrists, and hips started before the back. Migrating pains without cause. And when the back started, it was all at once.

I can't say for sure Lyme and friends caused it. Abt the same time, the ortho thought I might have had MS, for all the weakness and other symptoms.

That was ruled out and I got tagged with fibro.
Take care.

Like DakotasMom, I have severe stenosis in my cerivical spine (and other things), and several bulging discs in my thoracic and lumbar spine, plus DDD (and some other things).

I had all that before I knew I had Lyme in late 2005.

I wish I knew if Lyme & Co. were the culprits, but I'm not sure.

I've also had high EBV titers since the early 90s, and I've read that EBV can cause spinal problems, too.

So, ??????

To rule out any underlying issues, my LLMD had me see a neuro doctor (a duck for sure).
He thought for sure that I had ms and then diabeties and then spinal stinosis.
He was very disappointed when all the tests were negative!
I only have lyme disease but I'm having a hard time getting rid of it.
3+ years on antibiotics and doing much better but still have weak/numb legs and other lingering symptoms.
Feel great when I'm not herxing!!

Spondylosis of the spine, I have issues all up and down spine due to being rear ended while

sitting on my bike at a red light and car traveling about 40 ran into me!

Did a beautiful 1 and a half backflip and came down on his windshield with my right knee and broke it! The window too!....LOL!

Good ole' lymie moved right in but was actually there before that as my ortho had wanted to repair right knee before he repaired left knee!

Lyme can be called "lyme arthritis" if you will or stenosis or spondylitis, I suspect....whatever!

It's probably the root cause for all of the "osteo arthritis, psoratic arthritis and degenerative joint disease" I have anyway.

A "ROSE" by any other name.....

Still..........."STINKS" the same!

Hi all, thanks for the input.

The reason I ask, my neighbor has been sick for many years. She was dx with spinal stenosis and can barely walk. She needs two canes to walk.
They have her on all kinds of pills for pain etc.
She also had two strokes and takes a lot of blood thinners.

This woman is only 52 yrs old and has been disabled for almost 10 yrs.
She has horrible panic attacks etc.
Since she used to camp all the time and she has cats, I suggested she gets tested for lyme.
She refused. She doesn't believe she has it. Even though she knows I have it and talk to her about it all the time.

I want to help her, but it's frustrating that she doesn't want to help herself.
She also drinks and smokes heavily and really has a terrible diet.

She just lost her husband to cancer and is severely depressed.

So I was wondering if spinal issues may be included with lyme.
