Has anyone tried Cowden's protocol for headaches?

Of course it is all Nutramedix products: Condura,Adrenal Energy,Pinella,Takuna,Trace Minerals-Relax,Mag Malate,Pinella, and Burbur.

My daughter has had a headache for six years and I have had it with doctors right now.

If anyone has tried this, I would love to hear the results. We have tried some Nutramedix products, but they usually make her herx. The Burbur helped her sleep for a while.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Condura tastes really awful!

You have to really want relief bad to hold it under your tongue as per the instructions. I can't tell you if it will touch her headache.

I understand if you are successful at killing the bugs, these symptoms resolve. I believe people are getting well using this protocol but check the price per month first (there is a page on the information site).

I have used many of their products and found the anti-microbials were pretty strong. I liked the Burbur for lymph clearing, Pinella for brain detox, and Noni & Quina for Babesia symptoms. The Samento was too strong for me (rashes everywhere). I understand the Cumanda is good for fungal issues and I was able to tolerate it fairly well.

My husband doesn't like to use herbals at all, but he has learned that the Noni will clear gut symptoms better than anything else for him.

My sister uses Condura on her skin for poison oak pain relief.

I have used other products that seemed to help me get to a much better place energy/healthwise. I used Buhner's recommendations for siberian ginseng for restoration of energy/adrenals, and stephania root for dealing with infections in my eyes (from his book: Healing Lyme). He also has other supplement suggestions that are worth going over.

You can get stevia for less money from other sources. Also, the TM relax may be a little more effective, but Vital Earth sells a fulvic mineral liquid product that is a much more reasonable in price.

Another thought: In my desperation, I have tried something else really out there: detox foot pads. Funny, they really did seem to help. If you do a search on them, I think someone found them helpful for pain issues.

I have wanted to really go after the underlying infection, but the rash response has made it hard for me to hit it really hard. I don't really know how I am going to win this battle yet, but I haven't given up hope.

Hope this helps you have some more information!
And I hope your daughter finds a answer!

Thanks, Ruth Ruth. Good to know that it tastes bad. My daughter has nausea issues also.

She has been on antibiotics for about 6 years, so we have been trying to treat the infection. In fact she has been treated for babs twice and almost gotten rid of the headache both times. She just isn't being treated right now.

She is supposed to be taking a break from antibiotics and strengthening her immune system--as if we haven't been trying to do that all along!

The taste is strongly bitter. I've only tried it once since it was so awful. Can't even remember if it helped!

Babesia seems to be a really tough co-infection to overcome. I'm sorry she has had it so hard.

Strengthening the immune system is such an individualized situation. Not a one-size-fits-all approach! But finding hope, celebrating the little successes and remembering to be thankful can't hurt anyone.

Have you heard of the book, "Instinct to Heal"? It about the emotional brain and things that help it. The author has a very kind manner and I found his ideas very helpful. (I sure hope you don't mind my unsolicited advice! [shake] )

I wish you and your daughter the very best and brighter days! [Cool]

I haven't heard of the book, but I will check into it.

I don't mind advice. I will listen to anything that will get my kid well!

My kids have constant, severe headaches. They have been diagnosed with pseudo-tumor cerebri which is high intracranial pressure.

Thanks, pab. When the headache first started, she had a lumbar puncture and it did not reveal anything. About 6 months later, we started seeing a new doctor who did another lumbar puncture. Although the results were still negative, she had a wierd brown tinged line that went up her spine about 3 inches and it seemed to start about where the punture was done.

The doctor was mystified and ordered an MRI. Again, nothing remarkable. Two other doctors looked at it--including lyme specialist and no clues other than it was probably lyme related. It also hurt.

It eventually went away, but a year or two later she had a cyst develop on the spine in the same area. It started to grow and it hurt, so we had it partially removed last year. The dermatologist said that he had never had lab results like hers and he even looked at the slides himself. It was something like "degenerative cyst tissue" which meant that it was a cyst that was degenerating by itself. It was not a lipoma--it was not encased and it was clear jelly like.

What was left, has gone and she has an indentation there now. It still hurts.

She did have doxy this year, so I know that can cause the pseudo tumor. I have been giving her forskolin based on posts here. I'm not sure she will go for another puncture. She does need to have her eyes examined, so I will see if that doctor sees anything.

Sorry to be so long winded. I'm just hoping that someone can think of something new.
