I know there have been threads about this before (ones I've posted on), but I still am completely in the dark as to whether TBD's are contagious!

I've had Lyme/bart/bab for 10 months and feel worse everyday - despite abx. My being ill is terrible enough alone, though imagining infecting someone else is worse.

In the last few weeks my girlfriend has been complaining about a weird "drunk/high feeling". I know not to assume things, but I also know what she says to me sounds all too familiar to something I started feeling about 10 months ago. I believe what she may be trying to explain to me, is brain fog associated with Lyme. She has trouble explaining the feeling, just as I did and still do. I'm worried, to say the least. We do not have unprotected sex, though I do not know if it can be spread through saliva, or if anyone does for that matter.

Does anyone have any good sources on the spread of Lyme and TBD's or anything at all about them being contagious?

And no, she doesn't use drugs or drink, and she gets adequate sleep normally. It's not a feeling she just had one day - she's had it recur a few times in the past few weeks now.

If you're worried, see if you can get her to your LLMD.

bernie,

yes, there is something, Dr. Lydia Mattman, sp, discovered several things in last 2 years involving SALIVA, coughing, etc.
******************************

I'm sure it was stated on this board that her findings showed TBD ARE CONTAGIOUS!

may i suggest you do a search FIRST on this board using her name, and I think I may be correct in spelling hopefully.

so go to top of page clicking on search, and type in

Dr. Lydia Mattman
medical
text
any date
leave membership no. blank

read all posts/replies

if you get nothing, use BACK button and type in SALIVA, and change text to subject line; hit send and read whatever pops up.

then google if you get nothing. good luck! [group hug]

Good morning Bernie,

'Contagious' is a very nebulous term when describing Tickborne disease spread. I think this is why many here are not able to answer your question with much certainty.

Having said that...we DO know of several ways in which TBDs can be 'transmitted'.

Hopefully, the following link will help you with information that we have thus far.

Remember..."Absence of Proof does not equate Proof of Absence."

My best,
melanie
