This morning, I woke up and my teeth were chattering pretty intensely. I was sort of in an infectious daze, like when you have the flu.

AlI could think was that I was having a weird reaction and my Artemisinin is damaging my brain! Strangely enough, I was so out of it, I felt like I was possessed or something. I sort of dozed back off, and woke up again later, teeth chattering, sort of trembling. I felt light as a feather, like I was trembling all over.

It was slightly scary. Is that a normal Herx-type thing?

I am taking capsules that are 180mg Artemisinin and 20mg Sweet Wormwood Oil....2 in morning and 2 nightly. Should I reduce them? I mainly just don't want to cause any brain damage. Maybe I am just being paranoid though.

I am also on Mepron, Zith, and high dose Amoxy.

Do you have any other type of tremors or myoclonus?

Hubby has had this problem off and on over the last 3 or 4 years of treatment. For him his teeth only chatter when his brain is most disturbed.

Hasn't had this symptom in probably 6 months now. For him this kind of went along with his seizure-like episodes. IV Ativan was somewhat helpful in stopping these spells.

I think I would ask your LLMD about this, but I think it might be a good idea to not get overly aggressive with meds right now.

There is actually a disorder called palatal myoclonus, but what you are describing seems more in the order of a whole brain or whole body disturbance and not just a specific muscle.

Good luck and hope this goes away soon.

Bea Seibert

P.S. Hope you are taking something for hypercoagulation with all those Babs meds.

Also, might want to research the suggested dose of the Sweet Wormwood oil -- essential oils can be very concentrated -- have no idea if you are on a small or large dose.

If it were me, I would cut back a bit on the artemisinin and sweet wormwood oil. Isn't sweet wormwood oil based on artemesia? So you are getting quite a dose, while on a powerful array of abx and mepron!

I had a totally weird reaction to artemisin, and took it only twice. Hope to get back and try it again when I start treating babs again.
