Cold water can give some people cramp's as it hit's the warm stomach, doe's me anyway.
I have to drink warm, or room temperature , other than that , I don't know. Perhaps drinking it too fast ?????

Yes, I've warmed my water for years, even that to brush my teeth.
Otherwise, it hurts the tissue in my mouth.
Other than that, the cold water in the stomach is hard on the liver, actually. It's a shock and the body has to work to warm it up.
