I'm brand new here, have been sick for 4.5 months which really makes me a newbie. I was certain I had lymes or some tick borne illness after six bites followed by definite symptoms but I still had to fight for that first course of antibiotics. (amoxicillin for 28 days) Now I have a LLMD and positive western blot for borrelia and bartonella and have just started 500 mg zith, 150mg x2 of rifabutin (horribly expensive but is supposed to be "cleaner" than rifampin) and 500 mg of Flagyl daily. I was trying to figure out if I should be taking the rifabutin tablets together or two times a day. I'll be doing a safety lab in two weeks. I don't see anyone else mentioning rifabutin though it seems to be treated the same as rifampin except for the dose. I know that this whole treatment concept is experimental so it seems very important to get feedback from the other experimenters. I would especially like to hear from people who have had success of course and any additional tools they have utilized. I am personally very certain that my acupunture (laser style), chiropractic and massage with lymph emphasis has been very helpful, particularly with the neurological pain.

WELCOME! sorry to hear you got this, but you will get well!!
I have taken Rifampin in the past with Zith (for 6 months) and it was great!!! absolutely wonderful, I made so much progress!
I changed to Levaquin and now I am switching to Mycobutin, doxy and zith....
My first time with Mycobutin...my LLMD has me taking it all at once...
(I start next week)
it seems that not many on here take mycobutin...very few....
Yes, acupuncture and massage are great help!!! they'd really help me get through the herxes!
A few things I'd consider are:
-look at your DIET (eliminate sugars and gluten and other allergens)this is essential I feel...
-lots of probiotics
-epsom salt baths
-reboudning (small trampoline)
-vitamins- b, c, etc. and NAC and alpha lipoic acid, EFA's
-chlorella (toxin binder! great!)
-massage/acup.
-yoga or some movement
-yeast control
-saunas
-b-12 shots for energy
-milk thistle to protect liver
-positive thinking/affirmations
-herbs
-lemon water
-and be proactive in your treatment
well that's all for now...this is just all my opinion ( i am not a doctor)
welcome again , and you have found a jewel of support here!
hugs and smiles!

Just breaking up your post into shorter paragraphs so people with vision problems can see your question better!
