I dropped from 137 to 123 in four months. This was prior to diagnosis and my doctors could find nothing wrong. I started eating enormous quantities of food just to keep my weight up ... more than you probably ate when you were 245.
With treatment, the weight came back on. I did have a major parasite problem along with the Lyme. With the lowered immune system, I got the parasites that we're all exposed to but normally fight off.

At the beginning of summer 2008 I weighed between 155 and 160 (depending on whose scales).
I am now down to 123, and still dropping weight.
No one can find what's wrong, and I've been to umpteen doctors.
My gastro told me to eat 3 meals a day to see if that helps. Gee, thanks, I never would have thought to eat.
So I'm eating, but still losing.
I'm hoping that when I start treatment, my weight will stabilize.
Although hubby likes my figure now, lol.

I have lost down to 110 from 128. Even though I now eat pretty well, I cannot seem to gain any of my weight back. ????

Babesia is a major culprit in weight loss for me.
I was down to 94lbs in November.
I started at 128lbs.
My LLMD wasn't real happy about it, but as I explained
To him that I eat....and eat...and eat,
But no sugar, no carbs and a shrinking stomach don't help.
I got full rather quickly. Some meds alter my taste or wanting to eat also.
He put me on Periactin.
It knocks you out....cold. So you take it at night.
I gained 10 lbs in about 3 weeks.
I hover between 110 and 105 right now and I am happy with it.
I managed to enlarge my stomach too.
So, I am no longer taking the periactin, but maintaining weight by eating more.
I also incorporated a sugar free nurtritional drink once a day.
My LLMD also took me off the sugar busters diet for a while.
That helps too.
Hugs,
Geneal

i at first lost weight, lost about 15 pounds when first got on meds, now have gained more than 30 lbs and actually a little overweight.
so perhaps its xanax that relaxes me and gives me the munchies, or maybe just from doing nothing all day and eating when i do at irregular times adds on the extra pounds...
im kinda confused by this.
anyone else ?

I drank coconut milk smoothies mixed with hazelnnut milk and goat's whey. 4 to 8 ounces of coconut milk in each glass. I lost over 20 pounds and weigh less than 100--way too thin.

I lost 20-30 lbs in the beginning when I was the sickest. I had constant nausea, and constant loose bms. After about 6 weeks things started stabilizing. I think it was the BRAT diet that helped (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast). Things had slowly kept rising back to normal over the past 2 yrs, and now suddenly the weight is slowly going down, but its because of the Candida diet Im on due to the lyme abx.
The early days, it was scarey weight loss...the recent weigth loss has been fairly gradual, and I dont feel starved or drained, or nauseous.

I have the opposite problem. Ever since I got sick, I have gained weight. I am nauseated all the time and I don't eat much at all but I have gained 15 to 20 lbs. My LLMD thinks my thyroid and pituitary are effected.

Babesia can cause anorexia. This was my problem, and when adequately treated, I regained the weight. But lyme can probably do it too.

I lost a ton of weight in the beginning of my illness too. I was 135 and within three months of getting ill I was down to 105. That was three years ago and I still haven't put the weight back on - even though I eat like a horse...
