Hi, I'm taking (1,000mg of Clarithromycin) and (400MG of HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE) per/day with Dinner.

Just started about 2-3 weeks ago and i'm on them for at least 3 months.

Just wondering if anyone has taking these two meds.

Thanks, Steve

ahhhh, you must be seeing Dr. D considering the treatment protocol and where you live!!

I was on the same meds for a few months. 2-3 weeks into treatment I was hospitalized I was so sick from a severe herxheimer reaction. To look on the bright side, I guess it was killing something but it was too much to take. I continued on for a couple more months and was able to tolerate the treatment more.

I know of some who have done very well on this combo...

hi steve,

may i suggest you show your 2 meds in subject line plus feedback needed?

then you'll grab their attention and they will want to read and reply to you ok. board is too busy to read all, so we pick and chose using subject line.

just click on pencil, 3rd box to right of your name, that opens up subject line and body text. make changes, and then edit send. [Smile]

thanks and best wishes for replies galore [Smile]

Hi Steve,

I've been on this combo along with other abx for 7 months. I have seen gradual improvement, mostly with migrating joint pain, neuropathy and fatigue. The cognitive/neuro issues still remain. The plaquenil took a while for me to adjust to. Now I have no problem.

Good luck this a good combo for many!

I've posted my experiences with Biaxin+Plaquenil.

It's an effective drug combo. I switched drugs after 5 months each time.

Don't overdose Plaquenil--- 400 mg per day is the safe dose limit. The eye problems , retinopathy, that some people worry about after reading the warnings, occured at higher doses, before they knew. You had your eye exam, i trust?

This is one of my best old stand-by combos. I'm always glad when i can go back on it after being on something else for a while.

But i read some medical warning, i think on emedicine?, that Plaquenil can be residual and cumulative and cause eye problems after a 5 year total time on it? For further research...
