I just got this email from a friend of mine. I told her to try to get doxy as a precaution and also told her what to look for. What does everyone else think?

*******************************************

Hello Amy:

How are you? You won't believe this. This morning, I noticed a tick on my knee.. I was able to get it off by flicking. It did bite me. I used peroxide and showered.

When I got home, I called the Dr. he said not to worry.. i also went some place to get a second opinion. They all tell me I shouldn't worry... SHOULD I BE????

My knee is warm where the bite is.

What should I do? They gave me an ointment to put on the bite. Stings.. i am sick to my stomach with nerves. I am concerned about Lyme disease.

No rash as of yet.

It was only there for a short time.. I am assuming. I didn't see it last night before I went to bed.

It was easy to get off of me, not tweezers needed.. The bite still hurts. Feels Warm.

Thank you for your help. I am freaking out.

Yes, doxy, min. dose 300 mg daily, preferably 400. Minimum 28 days, I'd go for 6 weeks.

I would book a LLMD at once, that is the one thing I wish I had done when I first was pretty sure I had lyme disease. Hung out her too much thinking I could treat myself. That didn't work out too well.

Thanks six!

Yeah she's in Akron, Ohio.

I told her 400mg doxy for 2 months is the best if she can beg for it!

Do you think she could be sick and not have symptoms right away?
