Anyone diagnosed with carotidynia? I have it on both sides of my neck and my symptoms are pressure and a choking sensation. Sometimes pain on the sides of my neck. While it does not actually affect my breathing and swallowing, it feels like it does. I use a c-pap and I wonder if it is the carotidynia causing the closing feeling in my neck.

Would love to hear from anyone who has this, and especially interested to know if there is something that will help.

After a 2 year period of being fairly well my symptoms have come roaring back. This is one of the first symptoms I had when I first became ill way back in 1999. So back to the doc for me today and back on multiple meds. Very disappointing. But have great confidence that the doc can get me back to where I was.

Thanks to anyone who knows about this.

Connie

bumping this up before it gets to the 2nd page to see if anyone has any info or ideas.

Really wish I could find something that would help. Steroids are used, according to the literature, but those are out. Alleve, etc. does not seem to be helping. Narcotic pain meds help some, but not wanting to use too much of that.
