I seem to remember bettyg and possibly some other people talking about how they could no longer find Art Doherty's Lyme website. In particular I recall mention of his very helpful but "lost" list of possible misdiagnoses/symptoms that could be Lyme.
To get to the list of possible misdiagnoses and symptoms (that could in fact be Lyme), here is the link via the "Way Back Machine", courtesy of www.archive.org-
The only catch is that if you want to follow any of the links that go off of Art's old site (like to Medline, etc.), you need to peel the url back to the original link.
So, say you want to learn about the Lyme Disease symptom, Anxiety.
1. You click on the Symptoms List page, then click "Anxiety",
2. then click "MEDLINE - Anxiety Disorders or anxiety AND Lyme disease - 18 on 21 Sep 99"
3. You get an error page. Go to the url box at the top of your browser window, and delete everything that comes BEFORE the http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov part of the address. (You basically want to go to the live version of the site link, if that makes sense.)
4. hit return, and if the link is still valid, it should take you to the correct webpage.
I hope that made sense, and helps anyone that was looking for this old website that was helpful to so many before it stopped being updated.
god bless you for finding this again!! i had the main site, but my links for 300 other illnesses disappeared and showed it NO longer working! this will help many folks.
please copy your post here to TREEPATROL'S newbie links at top of medical also!
huge thanks from us all ok hugs/kisses

Hey, you're welcome betty, but I can't take the credit. archive.org has a great feature that allows you to copy and paste outdated website links into it and find old versions of it in their archive. It's a very useful tool.
It's not perfect, but you can kind of salvage and hunt through what's still there.
Honestly, I wish someone knew Art so that we could ask him if it would be ok to update all of his info and put it on a new site.
I would be happy to offer my time, website, and basic web-skills to do this, if he gave me permission to do so.
Do you know where he might be now? Is anyone possibly in contact with him? I would be happy to contact him myself if I knew how. I tried emailing via the address on his site, but it bounced as it is no longer active.
The Reader's Digest version, from what I remember, was that after a hellish illness Art D. finally recovered using giant doses of amoxy. Something like 20g. daily (this is from my very damaged memory). But that site had everything you wanted to know about lyme -- back when good info was very hard to find.

Updating the site would be a great thing to do. He lives in CA and I bet there are lymies in that state that would have some contact info. I remember one of them saying she had talked to Art by phone. But this was maybe 4 or 5 years ago.

His email is on the bottom of his link. Not sure if it's current but one could try it.

Thanks everyone for the info! I will look into it as I am up to it. I did try to send Art an email via the address on his site, but it is no longer active.
I hope he's doing well these days. He sounds like he was a very nice person and a really great advocate.
