It seems lately that I have this superhuman sense of smell, everything smells so strong. But a lot of it also smells bad. Some foods that I like are smelling bad, the water smells bad, my tea smells bad. Things smell so bad, I almost go mad trying to get away from these smells. I complain of a thousand smells that no one else can seem to smell. Am I totally nuts?

No you are not nuts. You probably have inflammation of the cranial nerves. It's very common and it alters your taste of sense and smell.
Many people on this site have it or have experienced at some point.
Do you have neuro lyme?

Not nuts at all.
Are you in treatment right now?
When I was in treatment for Babesia, it felt like I had Super Nose - could smell anything and everything. Quite unpleasant.
And some people have even had olfactory hallucinations - smelling something that isn't there.
I'm one.
Another is Amy Tan - the author. She writes about it in one of her essays on having Lyme Disease.
