Another odd questions?

SOrry.

All the supplements you are urged to take such as Vitamin C/Magnesium, etc.

If they are in your multivitamin do you still need extra mega dose?

Any thoughts.

Cindy

Most of the time you need way more Vitamin C and Mg than would be found in a multi.

Don't think you can overdose on vitamin C. As a matter of fact some LLMDs suggest taking up to 10,000 mg of C a day. It can cause stomach upset at higher doses however. I only take 1500 mg a day.

Sorry I don't know how much magnesium is too much. I take 250 mg a day.

With Lyme you need at least 400 mgs. of Mg per day, in the highest number of small doses you can manage, so you can keep up a constant level.

Do not use the oxide form, as it is not well absorbed and causes diarrhea more than the other forms. Citrate or glycinate or malate are better. Citrate is the lowest cost for the greatest absorption level, but all forms of Mg are cheap.

Borrelia depletes Mg very fast and Mg is needed to run many vital body functions. Just for one example: Mg deficiency is implicated in Mitral Valve Prolapse, a heart condition 75% of us have.

I can testify personally that Mg deficiency can cause arterial spasms in cold weather that can bring you to your knees. This can even kill you.

Don't go over 1,200 mgs. daily, and don't take it at all if you have kidney disease. I think I would try high Mg foods instead with kidney problems. High Mg foods are good for all of us.

Vitamin C is badly needed by Lymies to make glutathione (our main detoxifier). However, the body can only absorb so much vitamin C in one day, and it is way less than many docs tell you to take, about 160 mgs. Don't take my word for it, look it up yourself.

Regards,

klutzo
