I diffuse thieves oil for mold and I use the thieves oil cleanser for the shower and any other place where there is mold or fungus. One doctor I saw told me to put it in capsules and take a few drops internally. I did that for awhile but didn't notice much difference.
I think it's really good for fungus/molds.

Well, you've got me very curious, Pinelady.....
First, sorry about your reaction to Thieves oil. For what it's worth, I will often herx like crazy with topical applications of many essential oils. Especially on my spine. It used to baffle me - and other oil users around here - until I found out I had Lyme and came to LymeNet where other Lymies had the same reactions.
Thieves is definitely one that ALWAYS SHOULD BE DILUTED with carrier oil before applying externally or ingesting. I can't believe this practitioner put it on you `neat' - or without sufficiently diluting. Sheesh.
I use Thieves in a spritzer bottle if I suspect a bug going around or someone has been in my house with a cold, etc. - 2-5 drops in about 2 ounces of distilled water. I mist it into the air, and I also spray some in front of me, then close my eyes, walk into the mist, and inhale slowly. This can prevent a lot of mild illnesses.
Now the other thing I don't quite understand...... a `homeopath' gave you this? Or was it a naturopath?

The local health food store doesn't carry thieves oil. Where can you get it? I saw it mentioned as a promising anti-flu med. lmt

lmt, Thieves is a oil blend made by Young Living Essential Oils. Find a Young Living distributor or you can probably order it online from someplace. It's pricey but lasts a long time.
There are also some 'recipes' for making your own Thieves oil blend - just Google 'Thieves oil recipes'.
There's also a lady in Salt Lake making her own 'brand' of Theives oil - seems to be a lot cheaper than the Young Living brand. Again, Google 'Gypsy Peacock Thieves Oil' and it should come up.

It was most likely the cloves!
I use Thieves for all sorts of things!
I love it for cleaning my house!
But...the cloves are powerful.
I tested strongly for it's use on my gums after my mercury amalgams were removed.
The Theives oil kept thing under control and cleansed my gum area as things were being released from the tissue.

It was just a tiny bit rubbed on my neck from tip
of finger. It was the kind truthfinder described.
It is very powerful. She gave me a sample of
lavender oil to try for sleep. Tiny drop on bottom
of pillow. I passed that along to someone I felt
could use it more as I found the liquid mag works
for me. They sponsor a show and sale at the local
library about every 3 months.

I agree that diluting essential oils with a carrier oil is supposed to be done, but I have also applied Thieves directly to my skin. I have very sensitive skin, especially after this bout of Lyme and co-infections, and Thieves did not cause me to react badly.
I've seen a naturopathic doctor a few times who I respect tremendously and he's the one that started me on applying Thieves directly to the skin.
IMO, it's okay to apply Thieves directly without a carrier oil. I was even applying it directly to my tongue for leukoplakia (didn't seem to do much though).
I have one of those air diffusers and Thieves smells great coming out of it!

I first thought it would be best to apply pure than with carrier oil (because I thought the effect would be stronger).
Now I have my doubts. I feel that if I use good carrier oils, the effect is stronger than if used pure. The carrier oils help the active oils to penetrate deeper, in my feeling.
I used rubbed oils for quite some time while I still had lyme, experimenting, and now will only use pure oils on skin when I rub on lymph nodes that are close to skin. For joints or muscles, I will add carrier oils for sure.
My prefered is jojoba oil. But before I used common grapeseed oil or almond, and they also worked.

I forgot to say, I believe today that there are troubles where nothing works better than rubbed oils. Like lymph treatment.
When you rub on liver, spine, muscles, lymph nodes, throat, the remedy goes directly where it should, and doesn't need to be diluted in stomach, acidified, pass through GI defectuous walls that can't absorb the remedy only to go to where it should, in very diluted and transformed conditins...
There are also 'openings' that I call 'gates' that go to certain organs or parts of your body, and that are known in TCM (trad. chinese medicine). People using mokshabustion (spelling?) apply certain herbs to these entrance gates. I find these gates work very well for rubbing oils too.
My favorite gate for GI tract is inner elbow, for example. But there are many others. It looks like 'magic', but when you start to use such gates regularly, you'll see they are many times more efficient than rubbing on top of the organ in trouble, for example.

Do you have any good website links to these "gates"? Sounds interesting and thanks for your comments.

I've always believed our skin is our biggest organ.
And borrelia love skin as well as everything else.
So it may be an option not looked at a lot to go
for a kill. Needs lot of research in so many areas.

You are forgiven for your error, tree..... especially since you posted the link to a really good site about Thieves.....
Check out the mold remediation page - Thieves gets the really nasty black molds (including stachybotrys, though it isn't listed in the chart): http://www.secretofthieves.com/mold.cfm
There's so much on that site I didn't know about. I always knew it was a great product. Many thanks....
