My daughter tested CDC positive for IgM bands: 23 and 41. We were lucky to find a LLMD who got us in fairly quickly and give us a script for Zithromax, and for that we are so grateful!!!

The nurse did a thorough exam that lasted for one hour and then spoke to the Dr. Unfortunately, he only spent about 30 minutes with us (setting up more testing) but didn't advise us on how we should protect her liver while taking the abx (as well as what to expect, protocol, etc).

She will take 250 mg of Zith for two weeks, get off and test 3-4 weeks after (through IGeneX). Does this type of challenge testing sound familiar to anyone?

What type of liver and/or organ support does a child of 12 need when taking abx? I have heard both sides of the coin on Milk Thistle but I have also heard about Aloe Vera (among other options) but I am still just as confused and overwhelmed as before!

She is supposed to start taking the abx Wednesday night and I would really like to know how to give her sick, tiny body a fighting chance.

Thanks for helping us!

Loads of alternatives. I gave to my 1-6 year old (she got lyme since she was 1y ear old):

- chlorella (best of all, in my opinion)

- bear garlic tincture (for kidneys)

- electrolytes (for kidneys)

- some milk thistle (helps liver)

- Rechts regulat: good for GI flora

- rubbed some cilantro tincture on liver sometimes
(not ingested though).

- many homeopathics (individual homeopathics for each organ plus the off the counter products like Lymphomyosot, Hepar comp, Solidago comp, from Heel).

Lately she used Pekana's Toxex, it looks also good for general detox. She didn't have lyme anymore, just fighting some nasty flu.

I love homeopathics with children, because they have little side effects (or none). And they work well with her.

I also used Nogier frequency infra red later with her for liver and other organs. I think it helped.

Best homeopathic combination for general detox for us was the trio: Ubichinon + Citrokehl + Coenzyme compositum (a mix of SAnum and Heel products).

Another thing that helps is diet: cut off all allergenic foods. During lyme, the problem gets very bad. Usually cutting wheat does a lot already, sometimes we needed though to cut many more other things too.

Now she's eating everything again (except for milk, she can't digest that).

Good luck.

Hilton Head Holistic Ctr. in your state may be able to help you.

They have some soecifically mixed herbals for specific organs like the liver, kidneys etc. from
www.inno.vita.com

They come in tabs + liquids + the liquids are easy to get into kids. Disguise it in some food if necessary

Disclaimer: I get no $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for recommending these products. Nada.

A basic combination of Heel Drainage or Pekana every month while on treatment should cover all the basis. Combine that with clean water (Filtered minimally) with Trace Minerals added back in, a reasonably healthy diet, some mild to moderate exercise 3 times per week at 20 mins, and a cheap probiotics (since only Zith is being used), are "more" than enough.

Cost out of pocket will be about 50-75$ per month. The Pekana or Heel can be used at a low dose (1/3 to 1/2 the normal Adult Dose), as well as the Trace Minerals at half the adult dose. Trace Minerals at half dose is 20 drops in 64oz of water, Pekana would be 10 drops 2-3 times per day, Heel is the same dose as Pekana 10 drops 2-3 times per day. Probiotics should be taken at bedtime away from the antibiotic. The antibiotic can be taken around dinner.

Probiotics cheaply purchased are about 10-20$, lasts about 1-2 months per purchase. Trace Minerals are 15 dollars and last 5-6 months (tracemineralresearch), Pekana is 60$ and should last about 2 to 3 months, and the Heel is 25$,and should last about 2 months.

Cheap protocol. Dr. Jones will take care of the rest. He may recommend some other "personalized" ideas regarding her specific case.

It's best to always keep things as simple as possible. The Trace Minerals, and Drainage kits are not noticed usually when put in water, but if the child did notice them, they can be added to a mixture of some juice. Don't give the child more than one or two servings of juice per day (i.e. no more than 8oz).

Thank you for all the wonderful ideas and advice everyone, I honestly don't know how I could do this (correctly anyway) without each and every one of you! From the bottom of my heart,
Cassie
