Yu write you react to biaxin - biaxin with amoxy is a treatment for pylori. Pylori causes bowel problems. Is this ruled out in your case?

In the past taking Pearls and Align probiotics had a negative effect on me.
I am now taking Florastor twice a day and Vitamin Shoppe brand Ultimate 10 50 billion count probiotic once a day with no issues.
Perhaps the probiotic you are taking isn't agreeing w/ your body.

When my stomach and esophogus were ulerated - (husband smelled blood on my breath). I swithced from Doxy to Biaxin/Amoxy and took a prescription PPI 2 x per day.
It took a few months but eventually healed. And the Biaxin/Amoxy combo was awesome for my Lyme/Bart.

I have had intense stomach gut wrenching pain-felt like crawling into fetal position would bring pain down from 12 to 10
This is a definite sign of bart. Within one week of treatment, stomach issues much, much better.

For me, Mepron and Biaxin helped with a lot of GI issues I had - I was on protonics and I was able to stop taking them. I've mopped up with VSL3 afterwards (small daily dose, not the max on the bottle).

the probiotics i have tried are culturelle, total pro, udo's choice, natures way and florester which i have issues with yeast and that did not seem to work great.my problems with stomach are
reflux, fullness in stomach which did respond to
antibiotic treatment but then yeast came and in o
other post this nagging left side under rib cage pain which i am pretty sure is my intestine
because the only relief i get is from an enema.
if i do not do this the pain will continue to palps
fogginess,headaches,leg muscle pain.i am concerned
it is some type of leaky gut or bacteria that
is stuck there and i have not found a solution
for it.some antibiotics have made it worse,i did
notice on biaxin that it was better but i kept
having chest palps and room spinning on biaxin
that made me stop.antifungal quiet it a bit
but have been not stopped it.i am really at a loss
with this left sided intestinal pain, coffe also
aggravates it which makes me think leaky gut.i had intestinal yeast so bad and thrush,i was not told to take probiotics with antibiotics,
that i could not swallow, and the first few days
of diflucan white flakes where in the toilet for 2 days.
the regular doc said not poss, but i know what i saw.
so anyways my intestine has not healed still!!!and
i do not know if having lyme and not treating is also involved.i never want to go through that yeast ordeal again.

You should look into the possibility of c difficile as well. That's nothing to mess around with.

Hi Angiell, Have you been tested for food allergies? Are you on a medical-grade drink with prebiotics for leaky gut? I'm not a doc, just have had similar issues and would suggest asking about these.
Feel better, sbh

This was me - it's fungal. And the description of symptoms is exactly what I had. The palps are most likely from a bit of dehydration. An easy way to tell is to drink some electrolytes and see if your muscle pain diminishes. Have you tried Diflucan (200mg) for a few weeks?
Another wonderful product out there is called
SuperCritical Omega 7. It's made by New Chapter and sold in a lot of places. It's not a fish oil per se. It's made from Sea Buckthorne and rebuilds mucous membranes and the lining of the GI tract. Start with 2 about 20 minutes before your meals for a couple days, and you should be able to cut it back to 1 before lunch and 1 before dinner.
Vitamin Shoppe usually stocks it in their stores (although their employees usually don't know what it is and they put it with the fish oils or just lump it next to other New Chapter products).
Blessed are those who expect nothing, for they shall not be disappointed. Posts: 2258 | From a better place than I was 11 yrs ago | Registered: Sep 2003

what is a medical grade drink with prebiotics?i am starting to think that when i first had yeast for so long undiagnosed it irritated a patch in my colon.which kind of goes along with leaky gut.the pain is right where the bend is (splenic fixture?)in the upper colon.i have been on diflucan and sporonix which greatly reduced symptoms overall except this patch in my colon.i literally feel it getting worse with prolonged doxy use and flagyl.i am trying to stay away from antibiotics because of this.i just do not know how to rid of this area except enemas when it is bad with palps and fogginess.i will pick the new chapter i do like there products.i have even put nystatin in enema and had relief for a week but it returns always.that method is a little intense but i sure did like not having that constant nagging pain for a week.i am calling about colonics too.i know the enemas are not great but my other option is to feel horribly ill.

- Be careful of the Xifaxin. My idiot GI dr gave me that and I'm still trying to knock down the horrible case of yeast that it caused. I wanna shoot him. (no, not really)

I had a bacterial infection of the gut and major parasites.
Cipro helped the gut infection. Then my LLMD had me take oregano oil, plant tannins and uva ursi because once I stopped Cipro, the gut infection returned.
Then I discovered Humaworm treated the infection I had, so I took it instead of the other three herbs. That got both the infection and the parasites, which I treated for many months with four rounds of Humaworm and other herbs in between Humaworm treatments.
I also needed VSL#3 when I was on abx. It took a long time to restore proper bacterial balance in my gut. I also ate a LOT of kefir that I made at home because it's higher in bacteria than store bought.
It really depends on what's causing the gut issues. Mine was bacterial, not fungal, but most of what I took also helps fungal infections.

Vancomycin capsules helped when I had bloating, gas etc. L-gluatamine has helped with the burning pain, but can also cause neuro-exciticity(i know that's probably not a word, but it's something like that)
