Can anybody explain this...
If I fast overnight and go get a blood test in the morning for my CBC and liver function tests, my glucose levels are always 100-105.
BUT
If I eat a really small breakfast around 7am and then go get blood drawn around 3pm ( fasting 7-8 hours ), my glucose level is in the upper 80's and looks good.
Why is my glucose higher if I fast overnight and go longer without eating?
I've gotten to where I prefer the 3pm blood draws with an 8 hour fast because it looks better on labs and my doctor won't harp about it.

OMG...that is me exactly. I do the same thing. My fasting blood glucose overnight is higher than it is if I eat breakfast or lunch and go in for a random blood draw or a 2 hour draw...it happens every single time. I have wondered myself what was causing this. I did however go and have a fasting insulin blood test and C-peptide test and my results showed borderline diabetes and insulin resistance which I was disappointed about. But, I have the exact same issue as you do hambone on just a glucose test. It would be interesting to see how you would test on the other two I had done...

Yes, you would get much more accurate results with the GTT (Glucose Tolerance Test) I was also borderline with this test and need to re-test any day now.
