Hi all!
So, I woke up this morning and I appear to have what it looks like to be hives. Its on my waist where my waist band was and my inner thighs. The thing is, they have gone down and havent continued to spread like gives do.
I am on the fence if they are hives or not.
I have been on doxy for alil over a month 400mgs. I have had no problems with it.
Could it be yeast? Does yeast manifest like that?
Also I took a melatonin last night could that have caused it? I am at a lost of what it could be!
I am going to call doc today

DId you try to take a benadryl to see if it cleared, then it was an allergic reaction?
I had this happen on my cheeks recently and now the skin is peeling..very strange. Let me know if you find out from the doc what it is?

What does the rash look like?
I don't think yeast causes a sudden rash....
I've had all sorts of weird rash like sypmtoms with my Lyme & Co. Most I've never really figured out!
Let us know what your Dr. says.

It is possible to develope a rash to a drug at anytime during tx.
A couple of years ago I got a hive like rash on my body 6 weeks into doxy. I stopped the doxy and the rash went away.
Now I am taking doxy again but not having any problems.
You should contact your doctor or pharmacist and ask just to be on the safe side.

I have had this kind of hive like rash every night for the last 2 - 3 months. I have to take 3 Benedryl each night or else it just gets worse.
I've ruled out possibility of allergic reaction by not stopping each drug or supplement to see if it makes a difference. I was hoping it could be a herx from die off?? Not sure but I think I've heard on this site that if Benydril helps then it is likely allergey and NOT die off? Can anyone else out there confirm this?
Either way, Tricia, Benydril is about the safest drug one can take, so I would not be afraid to try it when the rash shows up. Mine began as you said, but came back each nite in many different parts of my body and over the last 2 months it has CHANGED from looking like severe hives to raised thick lines sometimes up to 4 or 5 inches long. So far (3) Benidryl eventually works for each night.
I've been assuming it is from die off.
Don't be afraid to take benidryl. It really is very safe.

Tricia - forgot to mention, if you purchase benidryl make sure it is just the original kind for allergies only, don't get the kind that says it is for colds, or sinus or anything else - that kind would have other drugs in it. Your should only have Diphenhydramine HCI as active ingredient.

This use to happen to me. At the seams of my clothes, at the band of my sock, at slightest irritation to my skin, tweezing, anything like that.
Never did find out for sure what was causing it. One Dr. thought it was from Mycoplasma.
