I make rare appearances these days (was dontlikeliver and here daily for years), but now I have a specific issue again that I hope I may get experiences from other recovered, or mostly recovered, Lyme women from.
I am 42 (43 later in the year), have been about 90% recovered now for 2-3 years. On no meds, and 'discharged' from my LLMD unless I need him.
I am thinking of going for IVF treatment, is there any particular risk to recovered women who had chronic Lyme for years compared to the ones who did not?
Does anyone have expereinces with this, did it work well and without bringing the Lyme back?
Thanks.

Did you ask tour LLMD? How long were you on abx for, and did you have any co-infections?
IVF is rough-at 43 you are also high risk. But good luck whatever you decide.

Hi there-
I am still too ill to pursue this route BUT when I felt better last year I explored this through some friends....
Two physicians who deal alot with people with immune system issues and have high success rates are Dr. Sher in NYC and Dr. Zhouves in California....i think Dr. Zhouves' website is goivf.com
Dr. Zhouves will actually consult with you personally over the phone for free.....He is a wonderful, caring physician who helped my sister have three beautiful children....
One of my friends used Dr. Sher in NYC and loved him as well....
Good luck to you.....

I will check out that website. I am not sure if I have immune system issues (any more), though my CNS can still get irritated if I overdo it.
As I live in Sweden I probably couldn't go to a doc in NYC because of time and cost restrictions, but I appreciate the names and might as them for recommendations of good doc of same caliber in Europe.
Did your sister have chronic Lyme?

Do ask your LLMD about it, as someone else said. YOu want to be sure that you don't pass anything on to a child. ALso, you don't want any lingering infection to keep you from getting or staying pregnant.
On another note, if your LSH is high, etc., you may need to consider egg donation. Your chances of getting and staying pregnant would increase a lot. I know it's a disappointment at first to have to consider it, but it's a lot better than not being able to have a child!
