Can't you take a Vitamin A pill, supplement?
Dr Robert J Rowen is just discussing that this month; he's online. He says the body may not convert enough beta-carotene (in food like carrots) into Vitamin A (retinol), so vegans may have a Vitamin A deficiency. Various animal products he names contain Vitamin A.

Here's my thinking: I already take a fish oil pill (from a reputable source) that allegedly does not contain any mercury or heavy metals. But I need additional vit A.
If the vit. A capsule (whose source is fish oil) is not screened for mercury or heavy metals, then I am exposing myself to more trouble.
This is why I am looking for a vit A whose source is not fish.
