Does anyone know how to understand thyroid results. I think I do but not sure... I think they are saying my thyroid is on the low side of normal.
Here they are...
Thyroxine (T4) Free direct: 1.07 ref 0.82-1.77 TSH 0.553 ref 0.450-4.5 Thyroxine (T4) 6.4 ref: 4.5-12.0 T3 88 ref: 71-180 Free T3 2.9 ref: 2.0-4.4

One of the missing pieces in your data is a measurement of your reverse T3, which is elevated in euthyroid sick syndrome, and can block the action of T3 at the cellular level. Its elevation is speculated as being the body's defense mechanism (slowing metabolism down to conserve resources)during periods of chronic illness. The Stop the Thyroid Madness book/website goes into this in great detail. There are differing opinions on whether this should be treated with T3 medication or left alone. Conventional doctors and endocrinologist will say your results are normal.

Always check stored iron (ferritin)too, especially if you're female, as iron is essential for proper thyroid hormone metabolism.
Ensure ferritin is between 70-90 at least.

What whitmore said.
Maybe the most important test is rT3. If it is high the rest are pretty useless (since a normal T3 level wouldn't be working at the cellular level occupying receptor sites - rT3 would be)
#1 rule in endocrine system, imo, is support the adrenals and treat the stressor (infection, metals)
