For the past MANY weeks I have had no appetite and then all of a sudden this week I cannot get enough food. I'm absolutely starving all the time despite eating constantly.

I also had a pretty bad relapse. I was doing okay and making it through the day with the cortef/florinef combo added a few weeks ago. Then a few days ago I missed one dose of cortef (didn't think that was too significant) and I became drastically weak (although it could have been a coincidence) and have not been able to bounce back.

Usually salt can bounce me back lately, but it's not working and neither is the increase in calories. I'm also getting light morning sweats and middle of the night chills. I'm thinking babesia is returning?

I'm also VERY late for my period (absolutely no chance of pregnancy). I was having regular periods for the first time in my life over the past several months and now I'm going on two months without one.

I am SO weak again. It is a complete relapse. I've done 6 weeks of Rifampin with doxy (that I've been on for months) plus many other combos prior.

What should I do? Should I switch back to babesia or try to stay on this combo longer? One of the things that I worry about with my LLMD is that he switches things too often and I never get a chance to see any improvement. Plus, he has told me he's running out of options and I think the next thing he will add is Plaquenil which I'm not sure will do any good.

Unless you've been OFF meds, you can't really relapse. You just herx and feel awful in cycles.

If you think you have not adequately treated babesia, then try the plaquenil with a macrolide perhaps.

I found that babesia was the culprit for my extreme fatigue. Once I got rid of it, all was good!

Keep on going because the only way out is through.
