Has anyone experienced lung inflammation with chest and back muscle pain. I have been experiencing chest and back pain for over a year. It feels like an inflammed muscle. I recently have been short of breath. I went to the doctor and he said I had some inflammation and thought it was bronchitis. Anyone else experience this?

Babesia gave me air hunger-the feeling I could not get enough air. I could feel that way while sitting or really get whomped going up the stairs.
What other symptoms led the doc to think bronchitis?

yes, one of my very first lyme symptoms was pleurisy, which never really went away, i still have a less painful inflammation going on with my lungs. Seasonal allergies make it worse.

I have had many similar problems - costochondritis and pleurisy and asthma. One thing that is helping me is a product called oregamax that many allergy/ COPD / asthma patients use that is an oregano extract compound . The reviews at iherb and amazon were plentiful and remarkable , so I have tried it . Actually I am using the vitamin shoppe knock off of oregamax , which is cheaper ( oregano extract 1.75 volatile oils ) . It seems to help a LOT . Check out the reviews for oregamax at iherb and amazon and you will find many people who say it has made a huge difference . The VS product is far cheaper and is great .
My theory : a lot of breathing problems are related to fungus and this kills it . All sinus infections are fungal also . I suspect ( just a guess) that the same cause is assoc with chest / lung problems because this stuff is so effective that it gets a lot of people off steroids and advair .

I did have one doctor say pluerisy also. The new doc thought bronchitis based on the inflamation that the xray showed. I will dedinitely try the oregamax. Thanks for all of the input.

Might be hidden lungworm, too...? I recently started taking nebulized iodine. I don't know if it will be something helpful yet so I can't recommed it.
I never really had much of a problem with my lungs but someone close to me said I "breathe like a little bird". I never really noticed. Parasites are good at hidding - re: "hidden" lungworm...
Fungus is a good possibility, too. I seemed to have some kind of yeast die-off the other day.

I thought about the worms. I'm in the process of finding a new llmd. Hope they can figure it out. I'm miserable.

Yes, I noticed that I started having rib pain pretty recently along with all the back, shoulder & neck pain. After a while - you just don't know...
Sorry I can't be more helpful.
