I'm doing the Dr. K parasite protocol and after reading some of the side effects of Albendazole on Wikipedia, I'm scared! Can people weigh in? Have you taken it without having major side effects? Was it worth it? Thanks

I am doing the same protocol. I am now on the Alinia part of the treatment. I however did not make it through Albenza. I did 10 days at a half of a dose. I was vomiting and had terrible fatigue. Then after seeing hair loss as a side effect I stopped it and went on to Alinia.

Alinia has been hard to tolerate as well. I have awful headaches and after 6 days am still only at a half dose I hope I was hoping to be able to do the full dose for at least 10 days. We will see.

I have to say this treatment (especially ivermectin) has been the most helpful treatment I have done after 4 years of abx.

Good luck

hope, thanks for the info. I agree the treatment has been helpful. I'm on my first dose of Albenza now and it's hurting my eyes and making me TERRIBLY nauseated. Humm...

I think we are supposed to go back and rotate through the meds again after all done, right?

I'm not sure about rotating. This protocol is not something my doctor normally prescribes. I would really like to do at least do another round of the ivermectin.

It is somewhat disheartening if after all this more rounds are needed. If what I have take hasn't killed whatever I have I am worried nothing will.

I hope to do herbs after this as maintenance. I have done humaworm, but not parastroy. DO you have any experience with these herbs?

Dr. K. has stated it can take 6 mos to a yr to treat parasites. Some parasites lay more than 200.000 eggs a day, and if you have been infected for a long time, you can understand why treatment has to be longer.

These parasites can invade the lungs, CNS brain, tissue and all the organs. It can several yrs to get rid of parasites depending on how long you have been infected.

Some of you might also want to consider alternating with antiparasitic herbs and salt/c when not doing pharma meds. Persistence is KEY in getting rid of these infections. Try not to be discouraged.

P. S. One round of Humaworm or Parastroy is never enough and has to be ongoing until symptom free. The adjunct of salt/c will help kill the parasites.

I eventually added Hanna Kroeger Wormwood to Parastroy along with LOTS of Super Digestaway, extra cloves, coconut oil, and Kefir for better results.

Check out lymestrategies for more info on salt/c and other modalities.

Do it! Great protocol! I had much improvement from this. Nothing ventured, nothing gained in this disease!

I have one day left of the Albneza from a 2 week course. I have felt totally fine on it with no side effects at all. Just started the Ivermectin and so far so good with that too.

I'm doing my first colonic tomorrow. Dr K mentions that they are very important during the parasite protocol.

Best wishes!

I've been on and off Ivermectin several times. EACH time I get new die off and new improvement, which leads me to believe I want to do a round or two of the stuff every year for a LONG time.

Birdie, interesting that Albenza doesn't give you problems, I have a million side effects with it.

Took Albenza 10-12 years ago and had no problems.

Dan67, are you taking enough binders to force the dead proteins etc. out? No doubt, if the debris stays in you, it will not feel very good.

The die=off from parasites consists mainly of neurotoxins aka as toxic metals, fungi, and possibly a little viral fallout.

Try much lower doses? I tried the standard recommendation for albendazole and my herx was extreme, horrible. But it did kill off a lot of baddies. I feel it was a mistake to do that. Now I am taking just a half-tablet (100mg) every other day. This gives me mild symptoms and visible results, so I know it's working. I also do some ivermectin when I'm feeling well enough. I plan to very gradually increase the albendazole dosage, but not let it overwhelm me.

Today is a new day. I woke up today feeling REALLY GOOD which leads me to think yesterday's albendazole madness what I thought was side effects, was really die off. Yay! I'm back on it.
